Warning - LivingSocial.com keeps your credit card details even when they are not visible

Hi all. I just want to warn you that livingsocial.com keeps your credit card details even when they are not visible. I purchased a deal from them a while ago, and notice in a few weeks that credit card details I used are still in my account. So, I called them and asked to remove them as it is definitely a major security threat. Now their Web site says:

You don't have a credit card on file.

But when I purchased another deal from their Web site a few days ago, it did not ask me to entre my credit card details and completed payment charging the same card as used before. Actually my intention was to use a PayPal but I cannot recall it would prompt me to choose one. Doesn't matter.

What I mean is that your credit card details , which they call "the default card", are still there.

  • maybe there is a payment method in your profile that you can delete?

  • They set up an automatic payment thing with Paypal and link it to your account. Are you sure that's not what's causing it?

    You can go into Paypal and cancel the automatic payment if you want.

  • OP is correct, at least thats exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago. I deleted a payment method, received confirmation of it, but then following purchase a week or so later the same "auto pay" type thing happened to me (when I instead wanted to select paypal). Methinks they could potentially have something set up which they shouldnt.. (or a glitch)
