To celebrate the legacy of many popular fighters on the Super Smash Bros. roster in the lead up to the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS on 4th October, Nintendo announces today that over the span of two weeks in August there will be Nintendo eShop discounts of up to 50% on more than 25 downloadable retail and Virtual Console titles on Nintendo 3DS and 2DS as well as Wii U.

The Super Smash Bros. Character Sale: New Challengers on Nintendo eShop from 15th – 21st August* features the following titles starring new challengers from the Super Smash Bros. roster:

Mii Fighter, Villager, Palutena, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Mega Man, Pac-Man.

The actual release game titles are not that cheap, but the Virtual Console stuff seems cheap enough (most between $3-$5 at 50% off).

      Cheers for the table. Kinda sad most of the retail stuff is still far more expensive. Ie, I got kid icarus for like 15 bucks last year from EB. and tomodachi life was 44 at big w at release.

      Nah this has been done a few times already. They are getting decent with their sales. Not as much as sony or MS and certainly not steam but not as bad as they were

      I got the Wii Fit U back when they had the deal if you bought the pedometer and activated it.

    Bought Mega Man 2 & 3 and Pacman; are there any other real good titles here? The rest of the VC seem 'meh'.
