Heavy based frypan

we bought a 2 piece set of anolon a few years back (i think its these http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/anolon-advanced-open-fre…), there still going strong. cant remember how much they were, but i think it was under $100 due to a MYER special
+1 for Anolon advanced, I've had mine for a few years and it's still great / non stick works perfectly.
Myer/DJs don't buy this kind of thing unless it's on special. Peter's of Kensington / Victoria's Basement usually have good (but not bargain) prices e.g http://m.petersofkensington.com.au/Product/Detail/Anolon-Adv…
Lodge? they are really heavy and reviews on amazon are amazing
Wait for an Aldi sale on cast iron frying pans. They're heavy as, but great value. Their dutch ovens are also quite good, fwiw.
Failing that, try a local independent camping store. They usually sell cast iron pans, griddles and dutch ovens at good prices.
Thanks for replies! My wife is keen on non stick and low maintenance so car iron is out
She is leaning towards analon, tefal or woll
Any good deals?I've had really bad experiences with the high end Tefal non stick pans and would NOT recommend them.
Got a woll from matchbox could have got it 15 cheaper online but prefered local shop warranty
Agree with silvertone - tefal non-stick pans are horrible.
Whatever brand your missus chooses, shop online to find the best price -

or www.chefscatalog.com (UK based, check with shipping included, sometimes u may find a bargain)What does she cook with the frypan? personally I would invest in a good cast iron (eg. lodge) or stainless steel pan. A non-stick pan will not last forever. Plus, once the non-stick coating comes off (when you see scratchmarks) is when the hazardous material comes out and it is bad for your health if ingested. I bought a USA made 3-ply All-Clad stainless steel frypan and it is the best thing I ever bought!
If you think it is too expensive, IKEA has a similar construction set, which is budget friendly. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20149533/ and http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20083457/
Good luck.
Thanks, wife is loving the woll, she's cooked everything from eggs, pancakes, steak, schnitzels, bacon, simmer sauces, gnocchi, fried up some fish
Cooks really evenly across the whole Pan and wipes clean with a microfibre cloth and water.
1 month in its going strong
cast iron is really good once seasoned
