Long story short, I've sent my laptop away on warranty for the second time for acer warranty. When we sent it off for the second time, they said that the HHD has been replaced with a non Acer one. Really confused as we have definitely not seen any third party regarding the issue and they said it definitely wasn't them.
Any recommendations?

Probably swapped out by the person that fixed it the first time, so they could upgrade their HDD. It seems like the easiest conclusion to jump to anyway. Honestly though, who knows?
Maybe last time they'd been already had the laptop for like a month and then found you had a dead HDD just as they were going to send it back. So instead of ordering a HDD from Acer to the warranty repair place, they just fixed it themselves?
Maybe your relative swapped it out or maybe it even shipped incorrectly. I once got a HP laptop from Officeworks in Cairns and it had a spanish keyboard i.e. escape was echap.
