Bought a pre-paid vodafone Xperia M from DS.
Went online to vodafone website and paid for an unlock code. Unlock code didn't work (that is the only unlock code I ever tried). Called up customer support (a couple times), was told that sometimes their code doesn't work, and issue was elevated. I was then told to bring phone to a store to be sent of to vodafone for manual unlock.
Went to a vodafone store, sent the phone off, came back 2 weeks later, and ta da! still locked!
The store was going to get back to me on why it wasn't unlocked, and 1 week later, still no response.
I am sure vodafone is not all bad. But unfortunately, it is a fail experience for me.
Have wasted quite some time on phone calls, emails, and going to the store twice. Now probably just going to move on with life and simply avoid them in the future.
I've never really had a good experience with them.. Why did you pay an unlock fee? I got mine and my dad's done for free. And they shouldn't have to get it sent off to unlock your phone, you can always raise it with a higher power (ombudsman?), you can also post on their facebook, they don't like it when people do that and generally respond quite quickly, actually, their facebook is full of complaints! lol goodluck and I hope you get it all sorted, sounds like it's a small thing that's become quite a hassle for you :(
