Nappy disposal DIY system refill - Sangenic Angelcare etc

I came across the following method for refiling Tommee Tippee Sangenic and Angelcare nappy disposal systems.

http://www.sametic.eu/en/how-to-refill-cassette-for-nappy-bi…

I can get 3 x 200 meter rolls and 3 fitting tubes sent to aus for around $150 AUD thanks to a free shipping deal for a bulk purchase. 200 meters is about equivalent to 16.5 Tommee Tippee Cartridges (about 12 Meters per cartridge) saving about 60% over buying cartridges alone.

There is also a similar product called Wrapooh http://www.amazon.co.uk/compatible-Wrapooh-equivalent-casset… but apparently it does not contain the smell very well.

Questions:
1) Do you refill your Tommee Tippee Sangenic or Angelcare nappy disposal system, if so how what's you experience and how do you do it?
2) Do you have any experience with either of these products - Wrapooh or Sametic?
3) I have also read using food sealer vaccum bags could also work as a cheaper alternatve than buying the cartridges ?

4) I'm not keen to outlay $150 just for me and looking for takers that may be interested in going thirds. $50 each you get 1 x 200 meter roll and 1 fitting tube. Postage to you will be charged at cost from Melbourne, even better if you are in Melbourne, you can come pick it up from me (inner city suburb eastern side of the city).

Feel free to post here or PM me if you are interested or can answer any of the questions!

  • I can't remember which brand we use, but my wife is doing the same thing, but with normal plastic shopping bags. It works very well. She read up on how to do on some baby forum.

No need to buy any refills or plastic rolls. Plastic bags are plentiful in our household.

edit: this is the model we have:

  • +1

we just put the nappy in separate rubbish bin (with bin liner) which is located in the laundry room.

find good brand rubbish bin that close pretty tight so the smell doesn't come out.

no need for "nappy disposal system" :)

  • We use Glad Wavetop bin liner, 27L medium size I think, for our Angelcare nappy disposal system. We wrap the wave top side around the "blue ring" we got from the first free bin refill.
$6 for a pack of 50, never notice the odour escaping in the last 2 years. Perfect size for the bin and easy to replace.

  • I dont have answers to your questions but maybe time to consider a different nappy bin.

For our kids we used the Baby Trend Diaper Champ which takes normal large garbage bags. The bin stayed in the kids room and we never had any issues with smell, cleaning etc.

This is a link for the newer deluxe version. If you look around you may find it cheaper elsewhere.
