Prepaid Mobile SIM Only - Red Bull expiring

Greetings

I managed to re-charge my Red Bull 365 SIM last year a couple of weeks before they shut down completely, and I've been using it quite happily ever since. I was hoping for a miracle, but there seems to be no way to re-charge it again.

It gave me unlimited calls / unlimited txt and 5gb per month for $365 for 12 months

Is there ANYTHING out there like this?

Comments

  • Nope.

I went over to boost in the end. Boost offers the same except for 2 gb at $40. Amaysim would be next but I believe it's now $45 for 5gb.

    • Really?… $40 per month with no phone included? Boost is a rip off, you have to recharge every 30days also. $40 times 12= $480. Hmmmm

    • you could just port between companies as amaysim has 40-50% off for the first month i think boost has 50% for the first month as well.

  • Woolworths prepaid I guess. $29 for 45days with 5gb on Optus network is pretty good, plenty of call credits.
    So the calculations: 365 divide by 45days = 8.1111111111111111111 months times $29 = $235.222222222222222222…. A year.

In returns you could be saving more than Red Bull.

    • except that from what I understand, that offer is done and if you haven't picked up the sim packs they won't be re doing it.

      • Correct, unless you found and old sim pack (that is not expired).

  • The cost of mobile services has risen lately in general. It is very unrealistic to expect to find a similar price to RedBull.

If you are happy with Vodafone, lebara offer Unlimited/4GB for $39.90 http://www.lebara.com.au/mega

Alternatively the Amaysim (Optus) and Boost (Telstra) offers.

Spintel is also very competitive for postpaid (Optus)

    • Thanks for those options, checking them out now

Just as an aside, wasn't all the extra competition from de-regulation supposed to drive costs DOWN? How is it costing providers more to provide coverage and data when the infrastructure is already in place?

      • Apathetic consumers / two underdog's struggle to a decent (4G)build; while even so, a potent competitive game & I would prefer an end-point to these blowouts.

I considered at one point others might imitate the cut-price data-pack concept vodagone had deployed, but of course, would be too imaginative for the drab, dreary unimaginative folk who operate in phones. :/

  • Woolworth prepaid is probably the cheapest one. The offer is finished however you can still activate it if you can find some old sim pack .

  • Nothing left sadly..Bad year to hop telcos I gather. If you can take 60% hit to data lycamobile 358 odd a year resembles your offer.. 85oMhz, crafted for internet.

    Don't forget flybuys voucher(lowspend, infrequent shopper) -%5 giftcards/Paywave, can -<20%.
