Bought some books lately and received a free month trial to quickflix, all the cards have the same code, so just simply click the link to create an account and get a free month… They do require a payment method to be input, I used my paypal and then deleted the account before the month ran out.

50 for a single blu ray screw that id of rang them up off my head even more so if they basicly stole $10 for then screw up they should of gave you a free month or something try and keep you as a customer
Even better, it was $50 for a single disc of a Blu Ray TV box set.
Could have purchased the entire (profanity) season and then some for that.
About 2 or 3 of my Blu-Rays have gone missing in the post (returns) in the last 3 months but they don't charge me for them. I tell them that a title is in my return queue which is preventing me from marking other discs as returned and they just reply with a 'sorry,we've removed the disc from your return queue, Aus post may get in contact with you for insurance purposes (they never have)' and that's it.
I will admit cancelling your membership can only be done over the phone which can be a bit of a hassle.
Isnt the standard trial 1 month either way this is wasteing space on ozbargain

I wouldn't even take a free year from Quickflix. Their selections are so poor its almost comical. Once NetFlix arrives in Australia next year some time(hopefully) QuickFlix are done. Good riddance.
Temper your expectations, the Netflix library varies between countries and we might not get such a good collection. It should still be better than Quickflix though…
True. But there are ways around that. I assume you have never tried Quickflix? It is mind boggling how sh*t they are.
It's been YEARS now that Netflix has been running in the states already. Are you sure they're even making it available for us?
Nothing concrete but I've read a few articles suggesting(strongly) that they are in the next 18 months or so. I am keeping my hopes high. Either way my Samsung TV is set to the US so I get Netflix for about $13/month including all regions. I would enjoy it more if it was official though.
Were the articles in bold?
Wait and see.
Don't bother. Had to cancel my credit card to stop their direct debits after cancelling the trial. Abhorrent support, bad selection. Now I am happy to pay $20 a month for Netflix.
they have very questionable business ethics … very questionable.
Netflix for me to. Heard from someone who used to work for Village Roadshow that it will be under $10
Netflix is under 10 dollars 7.99 usd for standard definition.
$7.99 USD includes hi-def. It'll adjust video quality based on what your bandwidth is like.
@jong: no sorry it clearly states stadard definition for $7.99 slightly more for high def and then more to use multiple screens at once.

Scroll down a little bit it talks about the standard deff plan
@holden93: Netflix HD and 2 screens is $8.99
@dasalcedo: yes it is im not talking Bout that i am talking about what im on which is the standard definition for $7.99
I'm two weeks into a six week free trial and I'm calling up on Monday to cancel - it's hopeless on so many levels.
I got a free $20 voucher for Quickflix from Bookworld, checked out their selection & felt like I was stuck in a crappy 90's video rental store with a majority of severely outdated & unpopular movies. Ended up ditching the voucher, wasn't worth using!
this company is a joke. No wonder they have to throw everyone free memberships, must be struggling big time.
I actually enjoyed my quickflix trials that i have done previously. Terrible if you want to watch online but never had a problem with the dvd deliveries. I have done 3 or 4 trials.

Is Netflix over the net only, or can you still get discs sent to you as well?
Because I've been with Quickflix for about 18 months now and I'm pretty happy with them tbh.I know it seems to have a bad rep with a fair few people above, but I havent had any real issues with them.
I occasionally get discs that are scratched or dont load, but I log an issue online and they send out a new copy the next day (separate to my 2 disc limit so it doesnt delay other movies being sent).Just wanted to put a vote out there for those who dont want to download everything they watch and would rather 'old school' discs to watch.
Netflix is not physically in Australia so it should be online only. Also at the moment they do not provide streaming services in Australia neither. You would have to use a VPN.
Wow, only just remembered this thread. Sorry I ever posted guys lol !
They also have a shitty selection of movies and are a pain to deal with.
Returned a Blu Ray, They charged me for non return. $50. Called up to argue, no we never received it. Blah blah blah.
8 calls later, finally escalated to head office, and they magically "received" said blu ray and gave me a refund of $40 minus "administration" fees. At that point, I was happy to have it resolved.
Useless company, awful customer service. Do not sign up with these clowns. They're like herpes. Once you tihnk you're rid of them, they come back with gusto.
