  • Shop name in title might help ;)

      thanks but can't fit

      • +4

Then get rid of the 'new website launch part' and put the shop name in. Also change it from caps lock, it's not needed and is an eyesore.

        Edit: Much better, thanks

A mod did the edit, don't thank the rep.

Is this the wireless+ model? Google always come up with plus…or this is old model?
Edit I think this is the old one, battery isn't good. Pass…

  • +3

Does the HDD have local warranty?

  • +6

    Tony,

Why do you require a date of birth - and why in the USA date format?

Why no security on the payment page when entering/sending credit card info?

Also, why no PayPal? Fees would be the same as for CC payment anyway.

    Thanks.

    • +3

www.marketdeals.com.au uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on 2/03/2014 10:59. The current time is 9/08/2014 20:32.

If it's a new website, why is the security cert on it five months out of date? Looks like they bought it in March 2013.

(Yes, I get that they might not be using it; it still seems odd to have it on there, and to have bought it so long ago for a site opening today)

      • +2

Haven't put a credit card in there yet, but can confirm it's sending username and password back and forth without encryption. I.E. They're not really protecting your personal details.

I'd recommend not ordering from them until they get that fixed.

May I add, it is likely not just that info - username and password. Also probably the date of birth, phone number, credit card info., etc. etc.

I'd recommend not ordering from them until they get that fixed.

          Seconded.

I guess we should give him time to finish his dinner and get back to his PC?

CC without (that is, not via PayPal) would be OK - IF THERE WERE SOME SECURITY.

got a welcome email from them, gmail marked it as "Unknown Sender". So guys be careful.

        • Well that could be due to them being new right? Just saying.

One has to wonder why the home page
    http://www.marketdeals.com.au/shop/index.php
Features an Apple iPad with free engraving,
    an iPhone 4S,
    and an Apple iMac.

  • OP/Rep Mr Tony Huynh,

      interesting

Very. Why did he continually lie about collecting and remitting GST? Never registered for GST.

Now I can see my old comments - which I still cant remember :)

From your link it would appear that he de-registers and then re-registers as a Sole Trader - perhaps to avoid GST registration?
Also, it appears that he has no right to have registered the MarketDeals.com.au domain.

    too cheap.

no where in Oz (or on Ozbargain) has a 2TB Portable USB3.0 HDD been amount.

even the occasional Amazon deal, at best, is au$100.

I bought the HDD with my master debit card..what should I do now?

    • +2

I did the same and noticed that the purchase was still Pending (go to My Account to check). I then emailed them to cancel the order and called NAB (my bank) to cancel my mastercard and reissue a new one.

      It's up to you.

      • I did the same…

I see that it has been removed from his site.

Does your invoice include (itemise) the GST component?

      • Thanks I did the same

    • I bought the HDD

      The Seagate 2TB Portable?

I see that it has been removed from his site.

Does your invoice include (itemise) the GST component?

      • It included GST

To be safe got Commbank to cancel my card

          It included GST

Interesting. He has never registered for GST since he started five years ago. How can he collect GST?

      • I thought I read that if the item disappears off the site then he is sold out - maybe I read it on an older post.

  • Interesting that OP posts the deal and "new website launch" and then never bothers to login to check how things are going.

  • Non responsive REP/OP.

Those that did order, and have not cancelled, what has happened?

    Has your card been charged/debited?

    Anyone's order shipped?
