GoPro!

In the market for one…

Can someone comment on White vs. Silver vs. Black?

Also 3 vs. 3+?

Any other advice on an adventure camera?

And finally, if anyone wants to get rid of their current one, let me know/PM.

Cheers!

Don't forget to factor into the price at least one fast micro sd card. I see the Sandisk extreme is well recommended as being the safe minimum.

I recommend checking this video for a quality comparison between the video modes.
GoPro HERO 3+ Video Quality Test & Comparison (WVGA, 720p, 960p, 1080p, 1440p, 2.7k, 4k, SuperView) Chances are you probably won't need to use the higher end video modes (1440p +).

The wifi remote is handy for mounting where it can be a pain to check if it's recording. For example, on a helmet.

Definitely check something out like the HERO3+ Camera Comparison if you haven't already.

    • Thanks mate, I appreciate all that info.

Do you have one? Which one? Adequate for your needs (and what are they)?

      Cheers JJ

      • Close friend has one and he used it mounted on his helmet for a snowboarding trip. He's got the Hero 3+ Black Edition. I'm pretty certain he won't want to sell it if you were wondering that.

1080p 60fps was the best balance of quality and fps. Be careful what you intend to view the footage on though as a couple of older computers we tried to watch it on had stuttering from performance issues. One of the computers was: AMD X2 6000+, ATI 4770, ~4gb ddr2 I think.

  • I've got a GoPro 3+ Silver. It does 1080@60fps, which is great for action and filming scenes. It might be worth waiting for their next iteration as they might have more functions/resolutions such as 4K.

    • Ya I thought about waiting, but I want it for a trip at the end of September….and not sure if they will have come out with the new line yet. Terrible timing, I know.
