If you had to choose one night a week to do your grocery shopping, which day would have the best deals and cheapest prices? do new deals/catalogs come out on a certain day of the week?
Best day for grocery shopping

coles, friday night as everythings marked down and the weekend specials come out! (ideal if you have no party life) ;p
If you are a flybuys/rewards member of the big 2 then often they will send out deals that are only for use on thursday thru sunday
eg Woolies gives $10 voucher for $50 spend this thurs thru Sunday (Must be rewards member and get email) - the deal varies according to your past spend.
Point is its never been available like some Flybuys deals for mon-wed
Mondays, less people, easier to get around and faster to pay.
Aldi - Wednesday or Saturday morning, as that's when the new catalogue item sales start. In my local Aldi people actually queue up outside the store for the Special Buys.
At Melbourne QV, the best time is around 7 in the morning and 7 at night.
you'll find discounted products mainly cakes, breads, yoghurt and the likes.
at 7 at night, you can ask the staff for discounted hot chicken for 3-4 dollars off. All the loose bakery items will be 50 cents and $1 for muffins and pastries.
The big 2 usually have new deals out on Wednesday mornings and ends Tuesday nights. If you're after a rarely discounted item (50-80% off), I would say earlier rather than later since they could go out of stock pretty soon.
