Babies "R" Us: Infa Secure Mirage $249.98 (Including Free Installation)

60

Long story short. I've been looking for a car seat for my little monster.

From my research I've found that all the Infa Secure 0-8 seats are all the same. The only difference is the cover material.

This deal includes free installation by a third party (sponsored by Infa Secure):

It's not as cheap as the previous BigW deal ($135) (it's currently $338 @ BigW & $297 on Thursday):

There's also a current deal on Deals Direct ($199 + delivery):

But you need to wait for delivery and it doesn't include installation.

  • Also have a read on which seats gets good a CREP review before purchasing www.childcarseats.com.au , I also should add that Babies R Us wanted $196 delivery for me in Tas only the other week so I bought a InfaSecure Comfi Cruiser Convertible 6mths-8yrs Car Seat from deals direct for $164 delivered (now been discontinued) which gets a good review from CREP.

    • +1

I originally wrote a big speal which included CREP info… But decided to keep it short…

    • They're still selling the comfy cruiser at toys r us for $120. Bought 2 a couple weeks ago at Highpoint, Maribyrnong VIC and had heaps of new stock available. For $120 they're a bargain plus easy installation. Only fault is the recliner position which probably improves it to a 75° angle but kids aren't complaining & are comfy.

odc1984 that's the one I was going to buy but with £196 postage I passed :) it turns out to be a really good seat with decent arm rests.

        • +3

I prefer to keep my kid in the rearward facing position for as long as I can… The Comfi Cruiser is forward facing only.

        • @bluechan:
Yep, good call. There's a bunch of good advice and research done into the benefits of remaining rear facing for much longer than Australian standards suggest coming out of the EU.

        • @LaTerrible: My problem is. My kid (14 weeks) is growing pretty fast. He's in the 75th percentile and is about to outgrow his capsule. Thus why I've been looking for a seat…

        • @bluechan:
Don't get the luxi then. Its an A1 seat which has lower rear facing markers. The Neon (on special at big w come thursday for $115) will last you much longer. Onxe the child outgrows it we will have a larger range of seats avaliable which will last much longer than those avaliable now.

        • @Steggles:
Hum… Could take these seats (got 2) back I suppose. Do they take returns once opened?

        • @bluechan: Haha, I know that feeling. My 4 month old is in the 97th percentile for height. The Luxi will accommodate her for a little while yet, though eventually her legs are gonna be too long for a rear-facing setup in the XR. Ah well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it :)

  • Good description, OP. It's a ripper seat, we grabbed the Infa-Secure Luxi earlier this year and it's been great. Easy-ish to install, easy to use, maintain and adjust. Bub sleeps very well in it on nearly all car trips, so I take that as a high recommendation.

  • From my research I've found that all the Infa Secure 0-8 seats are all the same.

Not quite true any more - they have a new product out called 'Evolve' which is a G type seat. It allows you to harness your child until 8yrs (as opposed to just using the car seatbelt once they are about 4 or 5). It hasn't been released just yet, but is being heavily promoted now.

    • The Evolve seat is a 6 month to 8 year seat. Not a newborn to 8 year seat…

  • I like this brand. Using 0-8 Seat for last 1.5 years and very happy with the product. It has the highest safety rating too and very easy to clean as well as install.
