Moto G 8GB LTE (4G) Black - $209 Delivered @ DWI

270
BAE2013

DWI currently has the Moto G 4G in black for $219 with free delivery. Using the coupon code brings it down to $209. This is the lowest price but has no shipping insurance and would require direct deposit.

Realistically, with insurance ($3.76) and PayPal surcharge of 2% (if insured is $4.26) you're looking at $217.02.

Their Facebook page says offer ends on 6th August or while stocks last.

EDIT: As of 8/8 deal still seems to be valid so have removed expiry for now.

  • nice, but white option bumps price up by like $36

    • Ah yeah, didn't notice that.. I'll update the post. Just saw the facebook post specifies black as well.
      $255 is the normal price.

  • Bought a 16gb 3g Moto G from these guys last week. Really good shipping speed, ordered on the Tuesday and got on the Friday from Hong Kong (with the fastest shipping)

  • Keep in mind this model has issues with a lot of Class 10 SD cards. Motorola claims it will be sorted with the next software update however. How long that takes and whether it's true remains to be seen.

    • What kind of issues ?

Big thread on the Motorola forum but basically a lot of them just wont work, giving a Damaged card or Card removed error. Class 6 and lower seems to be ok. Motorola says it's a software issue and this will be fixed in 4.4.4

  • Well with the 4.3 update external storages has only read permission assigned for 3rd party apps anyway so unless you plan on using it as a USB stick or using dodgy super user access tactics 8GB might not be enough

The 4.4.4 update turned up a couple of weeks ago for my wifes phone.

We got it from TGG's online sale for $243. Glad we bought it locally as it has developed a
major fault. Although the GG's store we picked it up from, obviously don't take too kindly to
have to deal with faulty phones bought from their online store.

The bloke i dealt with was downright rude and mentioned that he would be more helpful if we had
bought it in the store and he had got a commission for the sale.

I emailed the store a complaint about his behaviour but they have not replied. : /

    • What was the fault? Did you happen to try a class 10 card in it with 4.4.4? Was just reading on the Motorola forum that some people are still having issues even after the update..

      • The fault was that nobody could hear what you were saying in a call. You could hear them no worries but all they could hear was a bubbing, under waterish sound.

Never tried to install anything other than a 8 gig class 4 card that we found on OzBargain for about $3. That worked fine .

I have the 8g Moto G dual sim (great piece of hardware)which I now use for Internet radio streaming and other things around the house. Not enough storage.

I purchased the Moto 4G from TGG online when it was first released for the SD functionality. I immediately encountered the SD card issues with the Moto 4G which is discussed ad nauseum in the Motorola thread. I read up on the issues then returned it to TGG 2 days later. The store manager was not happy AT ALL about this, much along the same lines as mrfluffy reports. I stood my ground, and said that the device was not fit for purpose. Got a refund from a very antagonistic store manager.

Then I did some more homework (as I like Motorola devices - superior radios etc) and settled on the Moto X at JB, which has been out for some time and will be superseded shortly, but I am really impressed with it even at a much higher price point, and looking forward to a Moto-confirmed upgrade to Android L (it's running 4.4.4. right now).

      • Hoping Android L gets released for Moto G soon after release.

  • The LTE doesn't seem to be dual sim, did I get this right?

    • Yep

  • Gotta say, from order to my door in 2 days, on standard shipping.. Not bad DWI.
Quick check, arrived in good condition, looks ok (not used). UK power supply included, with Aus adapter (decent one, also with insulated pins)
Hopefully never need to test their warranty service but so far my first dealing with them is good.

  • I got mine from DWI as well on Monday and also purchased the Lexar 64gig Micro from another post and can confirm that the card is working perfectly… the phone just asked to format it in and was good to go..

    • Have you updated to 4.4.4?

  • yes… sure did

    • actually, what I meant to ask is did you try the card before and after 4.4.4 update.

  • Sorry no the card was delivered the day after the phone and i had already updated to 4.44
