It is the settings for US store members won't allow Amazon.Oz downloads…

  • +3

    Hi all,

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience; we are working to fix this issue now. In the meantime, you can download the apps for free via the Appstore on your device.

Go to the top banner which shows the Free App of The Day - Shuttle+ and then scroll across. Click on the banner that says 'Over $140 in Essential Apps' and you can download the apps from there.

Alternatively, as suggested above you can go to the Top Free section and download the apps from there.

    Apologies for this inconvenience,

    Thanks,

    Lee

  • Some really good apps there. Thanks!

  • I am having problems and hoping someone can help me out. I have the Amazon App but it doesn't show Australia as country of origin only the US/Canada etc.The apps are not free on here which I get from reading above but trying to work out how to download? I go to the Amazon.com.au site and it doesnt have a link to the "Australian App" nor are there apps on there only books?

I have an account with Amazon however I just can't work out what I am supposed to do to get these apps for free?? I read above from the rep that you go to the "top banner which shows the Free App of The Day - Shuttle+ and then scroll across. Click on the banner that says 'Over $140 in Essential Apps' and you can download the apps from there." - I went in to the playstore and I dont have a banner that says top free app of the day, I only have top selling app/top grossing/top apps/top selling now/top new apps/top trending

    HELP?

  • The banner is on top of the page for amazon.com.au
I am having my own problems as even after allowing unknown sources under security my Samsung note 8 will not let me download the app. It starts then stops. So I need help Too.

    • Ok so i didnt click on the link above which was the issue

      https://www.amazon.com.au/getappstorenow

I was using my old amazon app. Problem is now I am still linked in to my US account so the apps arent free. It says above to click on the 1-click to change country but I cant see "1-click" anywhere I can only find settings but this doesnt show where I can change the country.

      Any ideas??

      • Hi spuddy9595,

Sorry that you are having difficulties logging in.

I think the issue may be that your account is set to shop Amazon.com. To access the deals on Amazon.com.au you will need to switch your account across to Amazon.com.au.

Go into 'Manage my Content and Devices' and check that the ‘Country Settings’ show your ‘Current country’ as Australia. Just below that, if it says ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com’, then click the related link to select Amazon.com.au.

If you still have issues let me know, or you can enter your details into www.amazon.com.au/contactus and our customer service team can look at your account and fix this for you.

        Thanks so much

        Lee

        • Hi Leanne,

I ended up creating a new login on the Amazon.com.au site and re downloaded the app and signed in with my Australian account and it now works.

Problem with what you have said above is it doesn't actually state "manage my content and devices" anywhere that I can see on the APP. My app on my Galaxy S3 only states "Manage my subscriptions" and Settings and neither of these have anything about changing country

        • +1

@spuddy9595: I've figured it out- go to "Manage my content & devices" from Amazon.com (not .com.au).

Mine was already set to Australia but the Amazon App isn't working.

        • Yeh I am not sure where it is meant to state that, I assume the app is the same on a kindle etc. I also tried to change it through the actual amazon.com website but coudln't fix it that way either. Figured it was just easier to create a new account

        • EDIT: Accessing my account at Amazon.com.au but at work through an overseas proxy. Need to access the site locally for it to work (ie cue them all on the cloud)

        • ahhh, yeh mine was too but still wasn't working

        • How do I buy and cue to the cloud without downloading straight away?

        • @spuddy9595:
          Hi spuddy9595,

You are absolutely correct; unfortunately at this time, you can only change to Amazon.com.au via the Amazon.com website.

          Thanks

          Lee

  • Thx rep, grabbed a few! I enjoyed Sonic racing on PC so will be good time waster on mobile :P

    • +1

460MB! That's why I 'bought' but left it in the cloud for later.

      • looks like I will be moving everything to my SD card so I have enough room for apps :)

        • And downloading free.

      • How do I buy and cue to the cloud without downloading straight away?

        • Use the website. It add the app to your account for manually downloading later.

  • Assume if I download the apps on my amazon app through my S3 mobile that I can download the Amazon App on my Tablet and the apps will all be there? or do I need to download them separately on each device>?

    • Your account will have all the apps. You can download the apps to any device (assuming the apps are compatible with the device) later on.

      • Thanks Netsurfer!

  • ?

  • I changed my account to amazon.com.au but I still cannot download the amazon app!!
When I rang amazon about it I was told they were having trouble at their end with downloading the app.If you are having trouble like me you may have to wait a day or so.

    • i dont have any problem to change my account from .com to .com.au and downloaded most of these apps just a few seconds ago.

    • Can't wait too long doesnt the sale end tommorrow? I will be downloading them all tonight once I can get on my wifi

      • +1

        Hi spuddy9595,

The offer runs today and tomorrow - it finishes the end of day Friday.

You can download the apps to your account via Amazon.com.au (desktop site) and these will entitle your account to the apps. Once on wifi, you can download them to any and all compatible devices. You can also 'purchase' the apps on your device, but not install them until later.

        Thanks,

        Lee

        • Great thanks for the tip, will buy them through the desktop site

  • Still won't work for me.Cannot download the amazon app store even after restarting my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.It starts then stops.
As I said above I set up an amazon.com.au account and set my tablet to allow unknown apps.

    • Check storage? May not be the issue but see where the items are to go. Tablet, USB, scard, or the cloud. If I have to down load to devise, with security off, I then open close app and remove from device for later use, all done from Amazon - my account .then virus scan reminds me I have risk to reset security. Good luck even understand my post also l'l'

  • Hi fishnz,

Sorry that you are having difficulties. Can you check that 'Unknown Sources' is completely checked in your security settings. Sometimes you can uncheck it for one time only, rather than unchecking it for all downloads in the future. When this happens, you will have difficulties downloading the Appstore.

    Thanks,

    Lee

  • Tried it on my phone and worked easily so I guess I can download the apps into my account now and hopefully transfer them to my Note 8 later when things start working.
Unknown sources is checked on the tablet but still no luck.

  • Got the app ok. Used desktop to get a bunch of them into my account. That worked ok - have emails confirming and one's i've selected showing in my 'my apps'. Alas using actual amazon app on android with same login details (attempting to download them) none of these are showing as owned. I'm guessing that bit's borked atm.

    • I just tried it and it works. I bought an app on the website through desktop and then went in to the app and selected My Apps , CLOUD - hit the refresh button took a few seconds and then it appeared

      • Cheers. That did the trick (refresh). Got em.

  • Thanks login to my account through web and clicked them one by one.

They should let me select them all and click them once.

  • Thanks, OP. I've got all the apps.

  • Hey guys, my account is already switched to AU Amazon store for this deal.

How do I go about to switch back to US Amazon Store?

BTW, its only 29 apps compatible with Android, rest are Kindle

    • Hi neonlight,

To change back to Amazon.com, you can do that at any time through the same method detailed above. Go into 'Manage Your Kindle' on Amazon.com.au and then visit ‘Country Settings’, which should show your ‘Current country’ as Australia. Just below that, it will state: ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com.au.’ You can then click the related link to select Amazon.com. It may take a couple of minutes to refresh.

If you would like some help with changing your account, please enter your details here: www.amazon.com.au/contactus

      Thanks,

      Lee

  • These apps are pretty old, for an example, Flight Radar Pro on Amazon is version 3.6.0 whilst on Play Store current version is 5.21.

    Amazon's version
    http://www.amazon.com.au/Flightradar24-AB-Pro/dp/B00BXI26XC/…

    Play Store's version
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flightrada…

And funny thing, its not compatible with my Moto G. Though, may be useful for others since its free, can't complain more…

    • -1

Flight Radar Pro is Kindle only

      • -1

        Where did you read that?
        Specs for this app…
        Flightradar24 Pro
        by Flightradar24 AB
        Platform: Android
It's just not comparable with all Android versions.

        • If you run even 4.1.2, Galaxy S3, Nexus none of them work on it.

Essentially useless. If you still got gingerbread, maybe it might be "compatible" for you

        • The point is it's definitely not the Kindle version as you stated.
Specs I posted were cut & paste from this deal's Amazon app.

    • Current version numbers commonly differ between Google Play & Amazon.. May still be same app version.

  • Hey, I've followed the link, got the Amazon app, logged in and then opened the download through Amazon's webpage for the apps but it is charging me for them. Have I missed a step somewhere?

    • +1

      Hi tassietigermaniac,

Your account may be set up to shop Amazon.com.

To check and change this, change your ‘1-Click address’ to your Australian address. Go into 'Manage Your Content and Devices' on Amazon.com or 'Manage Your Kindle' on Amazon.com.au and check that the ‘Country Settings’ show your ‘Current country’ as Australia.

Underneath that, it should say: ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com.au.’ But if it says ‘You are currently linked to shop on Amazon.com’, then you are definitely shopping Amazon.com. Just click the related link to select Amazon.com.au.

      Thanks

I've got apps on both the US and AU appstores. Can I see them/download them in one place on my Amazon appstore, or will I need to switch between the two?

    • I want to know this as well, pls respond

    • Hi 93_infinity and DauntingEarth,

If you have the apps on one account on Amazon.com and then move across to Amazon.com.au (or vice versa) your apps should come through and still be visible.

However, if you have set up two separate accounts, unfortunately we cannot join the accounts together and you will need to switch between the two. Here are some further details about logging in and out of different accounts on the one device: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=2…

If you would like one of our customer service team to take a look at your account, please enter your details in here: www.amazon.com.au/contactus.

      Thanks,

      Lee

  • Thank you :)

Don't even have an android, everyone has an iphone. Still downloaded… Do I have OzbargainSyndrome?

  • For those having trouble downloading even after changing their 1-Click settings

You might need to go to: Manage Your Content and Devices -> Your Device and Settings -> Country Settings.

Mine was still set to United States even though my 1-Click setting was already Australia. Changed the Country Settings and then it worked for me! Hope this helps some people.
