  • I cannot register- your site is undergoing maintenance

  • Great price! Unfortunately Shipping is a killer @ $19.00…good for WA people I guess. If you include postage it's only $10 cheaper then MSY…

  • Yes, unfortunately our Eastern States shipping is very high (as we have a fixed price delivery fee). But WA Metro area is only $5!

    • +1

Metro WA is only $5!!! OMG that's cheap. I don't know of any other shops that has such cheap postage in their metro area

  • Sorry about the website - we're working on it, but it looks like might have been a spike in traffic.

  • When I checkout, it keeps crashing :(
Not sure if my order is in or not??? Hope it doesnt charge my CC multiple times.

  • Netplus - great price - but Shipping is too high for eastern states
We can buy 1TB HDD for 99 (local pickup available from QLD)

Why pay $80+ for this 808.8GB?

Anyways - Keep up the good work!

  • shipping a bit too expensive. Maybe $10 is ok.

  • Delivery, Payment and Additional Charges

    • Shipping if required is charged at $5 for Perth metro area, $12 for West Australia Country and $19 Australia Wide, regardless of order size. We reserve the right to refuse / change price for very large orders. Or you can pick up your purchace from our store in Osborne Park.
    • Optional Shipping insurance is charged at 5% of the total cost.
    • Visa, Mastercard and AMEX Credit cards attracts 2.3% surcharge. Diners 4%. AMEX and Diners are only available on in-store pickup orders as a signature is required.
    • Payment is to be cash, EFTPOS or Bank Cheque only.
    • Prices / Availability are generally for normal retail quantities only. We reserve the right to not supply / change price for other quantities.

    Hi there,

I'm trying to verify it is possible to get this for $60 only.

    Can you confirm that:
    - pickup has no charge
    - that there is no charge on cash and/or bank cheque

    • A bit puzzled by your terms and conditions:
      - postage charge is fixed "regardless of size"
      - you reserve the right to change the price for "very large" orders

You might want to specify what is "very large"

From dealing with netplus in the past there is no charge for cash / debit card and pick up has no charge. They are probaly the best in Perth in terms of cheap and decent service.

  • Great deal but shipping is a wee bit expensive. Still, $79 for 808.8GB is a good deal. Same price per GB as 1TB for $99.

  • Keeps getting "The netplus website is undergoing maintenance". mmmm I do hope you have anticipated for this deal and gotten the proper infrastructure/bandwidth in place to accomodate the RUSH! :D

  • good price but postage cuts the deal out for me.

  • Shouldn't it be 888GB?

    ; )

    • +1

They probably tried but is unable to get the disc platters to size up to that figure. Wonder if they had one that is 444gb, if anyone in China would buy it? :D :D :D

  • +1

Bought one :) can't go wrong for $60.

  • +1

If only you guys were in sydney.
    Great offer though

  • could I use this as an external drive with a case I have here at home?

    • +1

Absolutely, provided if the harddrive enclosure can fit a 3.5" hard drive and has a sata connection.

  • +1
    1. Delivery - Australia Wide $19 (Estimated delivery: 4-7 days stock permitting)
    2. Delivery Insurance (5%) (Items lost or dammaged in the mail can not be reimbursed or replaced if uninsured)
    3. Visa, Mastercard and AMEX Credi cards attracts 2.3% surcharge
DELIVERY WORKS OUT TO BE $19 + $6 + $1.95 = $26.95…. $86.95 is bit rich for a 800Gb drive, better to just get the $99 1TB and be pleased you ot the extra 200Gb later on when you're out of space.
    • +1

I don't disagree the 'extras' they're charging are expensive, but where can I get a 1TB drive with -

      1) Shipping
      2) Insurance
      3) With CC

for $99? Because I'll buy one (or more) right now!

      • It seems NSW is lagging behind on 1TB HDD prices …

        $97.00 Samsung 1TB - Gocomp (QLD)
        $98.00 Samsung 1TB - UMart Online (QLD)
        $98.00 1Tb WD SATA2 HDD WD10EADS - NetPlus (WA)
$99.00 Hitachi 1TB 3.5" SATA II Hard Drive - PC Superstore (QLD)
        $99.00 1Tb WD SATA2 HDD WD10EADS - PLE (WA)

You should hopefully be able to find a local store that will price match seeing as they are being beaten by so many other stores (especially when they are in different states on the opposite sides of the country … can't use the it's cheaper in one state BS excuse).

        • You're spot on about that.. NSW is definitely lagging a bit with the HDD prices. Unfortunately where (not rural, regional) there's only a couple of local retailers which more or less refuse to match prices from anywhere. That's OK anyway, I prefer buying online and hopefully it won't be long before $99 shipped is a reality :) (BestBuyTek did a sale the other day with it, missed out though!)

Making a profit on delivery ($19) makes no bargin on the product…..a shame as I would have purchased your 1.5TB WD as well… but HDD cost + $19 Del + 5% ins + 2.3% CC….what else is there GST again? to many extras

    • +2

GST is not applied because they want it to. The GST which they receive from the customers are required to be paid to the ATO, so it is not exactly their money anyway…
so as for your question to why is GST there again? —> because the Howard Government said so.

    • 2.3%CC surcharge is completely standard (some places charge 3%), though the delivery is on the high-side it's only $5 if you're in metro WA which shows that they're not making that much money off you.

You might be surprised how much it actually costs to send things around Australia. $19 is very reasonable for WA to Tas or the NT.

Not to mention the drive is a solid $30 cheaper than any competitor on Static Ice.

What's up with these frivolous negatives lately?

      • exactly, i forgot to mention that the CC surcharge is a standard at all computer stores

Please do your research or at least confirm your speculations before posting a negative comment…because a few negatives can really make the good bargain seem not so good if a single negative is seen at the home page.

      • +1

$19 postage on one hard drive is "very reasonable"?

I don't think so! They would (being a retailer) hopefully have a special arrangement with Australia Post (uses aust wide for most postage calculations, unlike others - because they have to delivery to most, if not all, addresses anyway). One single HDD is small and not too heavy, bit of bubble wrap and foam inside a slightly larger box. Postage should be cheaper than a 3kg australia-wide express bag or of the same price for registered post (which would be half that at around $10). A fixed price delivery fee is ridiculous. Someone purchasing a larger or heavier item should pay more than someone purchasing a smaller or lighter item.

        • +3

makes it easier to manage a website though, and they're not forcing you to buy from them. It's an actual shop on a street so ideally you'd stop by and pick up..

        • +2

You haven't taken everything into account.

Time taken to pack a hard drive and address it and pay for packaging and pay for the worker doing it for 5 minutes for each individual order.

I mean let's say at the very least it costs:

          $1 for the packing material
$1.33 for the time paying the worker (@ $16p/h for 5mins)

3 to 4kg box is around $12.40 for any Joe Smith let's say they have an agreement and it ends up costing around $10.

That's at the VERY LEAST $12.33

So if they wanted to completely cover themselves it should be set at around $15.

I mean remember if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pack and it costs more than $1 for the foam, the cardboard, the stickering and ink being used then this would be accounted for.

It's crazy how postage has such a relevant impact on the decision to buy…

Sometimes I think that if a company played with numbers and set postage to $5 or even "FREE" and just increased the price of the actual item it would subconsciously create a positive thought on the deal.

And the clear comment here is "but if you increase the price of the unit by $10 and decrease postage by $10 then it's not as good a deal on the item"

Well I disagree - I believe people would still think it's not a bad deal and would give more of a thumbs up overall.

        • +1

Its $19 flat rate for pretty much as many items as you want to order. It's a smart business plan. You attract large orders from out of state customers, and keep smaller orders to local buyers only.

The time it takes to organise, post out, and cover time required to handle any returns, simply outweighs making a $5 profit sale. It's a business. Businesses need to turn a profit ;)

Also, last time they did one of these sales, it was pickup only and everyone whinged that they wouldn't do delivery. Now they do, and its "oh postage is expensive".

<3 the fact that WA actually gets some good deals too :)

      • "What’s up with these frivolous negatives lately?" I reckon people give positives out too easily, and you only get 5 negatives a day (and that can used for deals and comments so its not many) whereas there is no limit for positive voting, some people login and seem to vote everything positive within a few seconds.

  • I agree that the good shop should have agreement with other delivery company and give customer choice.
Australia Post have a very competitive price, and have convenient of pick up at nearest post office. Courier takes too much time, cause no one have whole day waiting for them to show up at front door. Shipping to workplace is not an option due to possible privacy issue.

Great price though, only to be let down by shipping cost…

    • I've caught the local Aus Post delivery man:
      - leaving after dropping something at the door without ringing (I saw him approaching the door so I went there to get the package)
      - writing a note and shoving it in the post box without even ringing the door bell (I can see the mail box from my desk, as well)

I've also found packages that were left by the step when I wasn't around to spot what the delivery man was doing.

Whereas we've found couriers will tend to ring the door bell …

  • I want 1 :(
What is going on? I got an error page.
How much postage to SA anyone know?

  • It is a good price compared to previous offer ($50 for 750GB) and you don't need to wake up early in the cold morning. You may need to check the warranty expire date through WD website though as with my previous offer one, instead of 3 years, I only have 2 years and the end date wasn't exactly according to the date when I purchased it. Anyone has the same thing ?
