Gold Coast Theme Park passes - suggestions, best prices

Hi Ozbargainers,

The family is taking a trip up to Gold Coast for 5 days, and will be looking forward to visiting some Theme Parks. There are 4 adults, 1 4 year old and 1 2 year old.

At the moment we are looking at taking up this offer, VIP Magic Pass

https://themeparks.com.au/box-office/vip-magic-pass.aspx

This pass will allow you unlimited Entry to three Theme Parks until June 2015.

The Theme Parks included in this deal is WB Movie World, Sea World and Wet n Wild.
They also have a deal where you buy 2 passes you get the third Free.

I wonder what else you guys can come up with…

Cheers
Bernsy

  • Depends on where you live, for instance we are from Sydney, and probably will be likely visit GC once or twice per a year. It works out to be around $75 each after the discount. If you visit the theme parks more than twice per a year, then it's worth it.

    • I am in Melbourne, and we are not sure if we will be going twice.

Main attraction for us is Sea World, but tickets for Sea World alone is $89 per entry (ridiculous isn't it ?).RACV has a 10% off tickets promotion which makes it about $80 per entry.

We thought we might as well grab the Magic Pass, its a bonus if we go back again.

  • It's buy 3 get 4th free, not buy 2 get 3rd free. With an average cost for 4 tickets being $75 each, and cheaper than a single entry to Movie or Sea World, it's really a no brainer if you're going to at least one of those theme parks anyway. Buying a 5th full price VIP pass for the 4yo gives you an average cost of $80 per ticket, which is still cheaper than a single entry. You'd need to act soon though, the discount ends 31 July.

  • I am going to get this one. Thank you !

  • recently bought some off an ozbargainer who claimed them through his flybuy points…

Hope they are accepted at the gate :S:S:S:S

  • hehe good luck JK..

    • Serious note.. Do you think it would work?
It's got his name and address on the letter
However it says you can redeem the letter for 2 passes.
Can the 2 passes be used for anyone?
Before I purchased I asked repeatedly and he said they would work…
      Not so sure now

      • seriously I hope it will work for your sake.

However, it is quite scary in the sense that all my tickets I ordered are numbered and have a name attached to the ticket.
If you are claiming the ticket, this could mean you have not bought the tickets yet. And this means you will key in a coupon number on check out ?

        • yes on the letter, it's got a barcode which I think they scan……………

      • Are you talking about VIP passes (unlimited entry)? Last time I looked these are not available via FlyBuys redemption. The letter you have is probably for the 3 day pass.

In any case, assuming the letter itself does not already contain or refer to some T&Cs that address your question, you're better off checking directly with the theme park/s as to whether or not the letter is transferable, as they are the ones who will ultimately issue the pass/authorise admission.

        • yes VIP passes, mine are valid for unlimited entry , 28 days each, there are 2 passes.

I'm guessing it should be fine, as the person who sold me the ticks called the theme park to ask already.

either way, if I have any troubles at the gate I'll just call him and he can speak to the staff directly.

          lets hope it works out
