  • Does this apply to all Hungry Jack's stores, in all states?

    • It should, but everyone comment if it isn't in your state. Pic taken at Paralowie HJs SA

      • +6

        nsw does not apply

        • Is there a limit on how many you can purchase ?

        • +1

Ima suppose "~ < 19th August from 12-1pm, All States Ex. NSW/ACT" apply though… standard mee too offer (-:

      • QLD Does Not Apply :(

  • +1

Oh cool… Maccas have a limit of 4 cheeseburgers per day per customer.. i got caught by this today :(

that said, i went around through the drivethru and bought more :P

I see no restriction on HJs! :)

    • +1

      Yes! Eating contest FTW!

        • +2

You die your way, I'll die mine!!! :)

        • @Snoop:

Pity that I'm paying for yours.
          ;P

        • @Martijn:

yeah that sucks for you doesn't it :)

        • My theory… Buddha was fat, he was happy, and he never gave a rats about death!!! :)
Also, I feel that sitting here at the keyboard is killing me more than getting off my bum and getting a cheeseburger!!!

        • @billyb67:

Yep. All that tax going to medicare… could have spent it on bargains :/

    • +1

      How many do you need?

    • yeah i've been doing laps of maccas drivethrough every lunch for the last few days too.

But as they say the burgers are better…
      The cheese burgers are anyways

      • +1

        I love sesame seeds.

Maccas CBs = NO sesame seeds :-(

HJs CBs = a generous sprinkle of sesame seeds :) (and less-sugary "buns").

        = no contest!

YAY!!! Nice one OP, cheers mate.

    • lol Vladdo, how many did you buy (and successfully polish off)?

      • +5

A housemate used to purchase 20 at a time and deep freeze. Sure Maccas is crap, but being hungover and able to eat a cheeseburger (before 10am!!) from the comfort of your own home was surprisingly comforting.

      • +2

Actually, it was for me and my wife.. I had 3 and she had 2.. That said, I think i've eaten 6 in one sitting..

      • +2

I had 8 in one go two years ago when they had the $1 cheeseburgers at McDs. Man I couldn't work after that felt really sick. I think my limit is 4 because after the fourth one it started to feel like a struggle to eat the last 4.

      • I see no restriction on HJs! :) …*

I think it depends if she likes doing it for you or not.

    • strange, i ordered 10 in WA (myaree) for $10 :P i think it depends on your server

      • +1

10 HJs for $10?!? Who is this "Myaree" chick? Oh wait, maybe I've mis-read something here.

      McDoanlds T&C
      Q: Can a customer purchase more than 4 x $1 Cheeseburgers?
A: Yes, use the limit of 4 per day per customer as a guide. To ensure all our customers are delighted with
McDonald’s service we recommend that customers can purchase more than the limit at the Managers
      discretion.
      Q: Can a customer purchase $1 Cheeseburgers before 12pm or after 1pm?
A: Yes, under TCS procedures we recommend that customers are allowed to purchase from 11.50am to
1.10pm to accommodate any time differences between the restaurants clock and the customers’ time.
Q: What do I do if a customer keeps placing orders, and asks for 4 x $1 cheeseburgers in each order?
A: If it is obvious that the same customer repeatedly places order at Front counter and Drive Thru, ask the
Manager on shift to assist you. The Manager would use good humour and their customer service skills to
suggest to the customer that they have reached the limit for today and that we would be happy to see
      them again tomorrow.
Q: What if there is a large family with 2 parents and 2 children (or more). How many $1 cheeseburgers can
      they purchase?
A: Each customer (person) can purchase up to 4 x $1 cheeseburgers each. So a family group of 4 can
purchase up to 16 x $1 cheeseburgers in the one order.
Q: If a customer is placing lunch orders for their work colleagues, how many $1 cheeseburgers can they
      purchase?
A: If you’re not sure, ask the Manager to assist with this scenario. The customer is most likely a regular
customer or a business that makes regular Maccas runs to buy lunch for colleagues. These customers should
be valued as they contribute to the restaurant sales on a regular basis. Under TCS, it is recommended that
the request for additional $1 cheeseburgers is honoured in this situation.

      • +1

$1 cheeseburgers are serious business. +1

    • my colleague called ahead and confirmed ok to buy 16 cheeseburger for 4 ppl at work yesterday, maybe you can do that too :P

  • Also note that for Maccas it is a limit of 4 per car through the drive thu. I asked the operator isn't the limit 4 per person?, I have 3 people in the car. She replied the limit is 4 per car. I said that is ridiculous and she made an exemption as I ordered 6.

    • +5

It probably would be 4 per person, but can you imagine how blocked the drive thru would be if each car load of people ordered 4 of the same burgers each? The kitchen would slow down, drive through would slow down…

I'm only guessing that's a possible reason though. It'd be a pain if you wanted more, understandably, but it's also a pain being stuck in the drive thru when the cars in front have made massive orders :P lol

      • +4

Here's a zany suggestion you may not have ever thought of. While the driver is waiting in the "Drive-Thru", how about everyone else in the car that wants 4 burgers ACTUALLY DRAGS THEIR 'HAPPY-MEAL-ASSES' out of the car, and GOES AND GETS 'EM from inside the joint?!? Cray-Cray, I know.

        • So a driver with a few young kids is supposed to just let them cross through a car park into a store by themselves to get a cheeseburger, yeh right!

        • @lukeloop: We're safely assuming that those extra people in the car are indeed adults… unless you know of many children who order 4 burgers each?

    • +1

I work at Macca's and I can confirm that it is definitely supposed to be a limit of 4 burgers per person, so if you have a car of 4 people, they should allow you to order 16 cheeseburgers.

Either your server messed it up or their manager was stingy, or didn't a blocked drive thru. But they are absolutely meant to let you order 4 per person

      • Despite your name, I find your comment quite HELPFUL. Cheers (burger) mate!
        ;-/

  • +2

DAMN! I paid full price for one of these yesterday, if only I had waited till tomorrow to eat!

    • +1

Yeah you should have went into hibernation mode like me.

      • you can save more money if you go into permanent hibernation mode??!?

  • +5

How do the burger freeze like?
Might have to buy a few and throw them in the freezer for midnight munchies

    • Ewwww

    • They freeze fine. Not quite as good as fresh but not much difference, and the cheese goes all melty when you microwave them which is nice. I wouldn't freeze them for more than a few days.

      • +1

I saw someone reheat a cheeseburger on a stick over a campfire once, a long long time ago.

        • LOL :p

      • +6

I wouldn't freeze them for more than a few days.

I would love to hear your rationale on this. As long as your freezer stays well under zero degrees (say, at -20), why would you cap it at "a few days"?

        • from what I've heard you could leave them in the cupboard for 10 years and they'd still be fine to eat ;)

    • They freeze and thaw fine. To be honest its hard to tell the difference.

    • If you ask your server, they won't (shouldn t) mind if you request that your burgers don't get microwaved. That should improve the burgers when defrosted.

The person making your burger will appreciate it, too.

  • The burgers are better at hungry jacks but their fries stink.

    • Doesn't seem better than that burger in the vodafone post below.

  • +12

    Nice post Food.

Don't forget you can still get $0.95 cheeseburgers all day in SA at Sefton Park, Sheidow Park & West Lakes.

EDIT: Thanks for the -ve votes, whoever you are. So sad when people get neg'd for trying to be helpful :(

Also no jokes about port this time around…

You should be safe from here to make the finals. Both SA sides in the 8…

  • -1

Maccas cheeseburgers are nicer than Hjs

    • +8

      So tempted… crude joke… must resist…

    • +1

I can only assume that it depends on your role in the whole, messy affair.

    • Depends, what are you doing with the Maccas cheeseburgers?

  • Are these the same size as the Maccas burger?
I remember last years HJs $1 BBQ cheeseburgers where quite a bit larger than the maccas one.

    • That was the BIG Cheeseburger that was $1 for one day only when it 1st came out.
Couldn't get through 2 of them.
Had way too much sauces and extra calories. But tasty.

  • I don't like cheese so I don't prefer cheeseburgers. I like hamburgers.

    • +4

      Cool story :D

      • Aye, I could spend years pondering the hidden meaning of this bafflingly complex riddle, and would still never quite be sure I'd understood it.

    • +1

      Just ask for no cheese?

HJ's slogan is 'Have it your way' :)

  • Damnit i wish there was a hungry jacks within 30 mins of me, lord.. and i only live 10km from the CBD of Melbourne too. They need more stores ffs

    • Where TF are you then bro… bobbing up and down in a 'junk' somewhere 9 km off-shore?!?

      • lol i am in Balwyn.. used to be one in Camberwell but it closed. nothing else anywhere near!

        • +2
          1. Bulleen Village, Corner of Manningham & Grant Olsen Drive = 5 Kays from Balwyn.

          2. 171 Burwood Highway, Corner of Elgar Road, also 5 Kays from Balwyn.

          "ET AL."….

          C'mon Aqua-man… RESEARCH…

If HJ sold a "Goose-burger", I would advise you not to buy it, because I don't believe in cannibalism ;-P

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:

yes but i do not drive, which means all of those are over 30 minutes away.. not everyone drives man… the public transport system in Melbourne for the most part spans out from the city, it does not cover up and down nearly as well, both those are up and down and it would be quicker to travel the 10kms to the city than the 5km up or down.

Don't call me a goose because you do not know your ****.

i live next to a tram route, yet there is no hungry jacks within 30 minutes of public transport related travel..

Simple fact is there are very few hungry jacks around this area, as i suspect is the case in many areas around Australia, YET i could get to 4 different mcdonalds within 10 minutes.

        • +1

So you are saying that even on a crappy old pushy, you reckon you could not manage a speed of 10 Kays an hour? If that is true, it is best that you are not within "easy reach" of an HJ outlet flogging $1 cheesburgers, amigo. I respectfully suggest the "paleo" diet, of recent popular fame. Or, veganism. Just until you regain the lost form you enjoyed in your youth.

        • -1

          @Aquilius:

          Cool story bro :thumbsup

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:

Dude, you are cracking me up. Keep em coming. 8 )

  • Did any one else see that picture of the burger and think that the Hungry Jacks cheese burger has two meat patties?

Or maybe I only see what i want to see.

  • This is quite interesting to watch! :) Sorry it was on the news today.

Got it from southern cross station store. Manager had to confirm the deal. Actually 95 cents each. Got 2.

    • Is this available in WA?
and also can you add tomato? and onion, beetroot in the $1 burger for free.?

    • Is that the upstairs one or downstairs? The downstairs manager said the registers wont process it and the upstairs guy said they're $2

    • DAFUQ? I was just at Southern Cross, specifically asked about $1 cheeseburgers (no signage) and was told "No, we have $2 cheeseburgers". :(

      • I think there are 2 hungry jacks in southern cross station, Melbourne. I was referring the other one downstairs facing Spencer St. Nonetheless they should honour the deal. Ask them to look it up. The manager looked it up on their cash register to confirm the deal.

BTW you might also want to take up the $1 7-11 slurpee deal next to the hungry jacks for a complete meal.

        • $1 cheeseburger plus $1 slurpee. Diabetes, obesity and heart disease for only $2. :)

        • +1

          @Rodyland:
I'm tipping it would take just a weeeeee bit more than $2 to get to that stage!!!

  • +3

I'm sitting here reading these comments while eating three. It's surreal. Like that movie Inception, but more like Indigestion

  • Yeah no good in QLD..

  • Just snagged one from City Cross, $1.

Really weird - didn't HJ's cheeseburgers have sesame seeds on the bun?

Nevertheless, reminded me just how different HJ cheeseburgers are to maccas ones - still not sure which I prefer…

    • The buns (should) come with seeds, Tiptop may have had issues this week.

      • I just noticed the picture in the OP also has no seeds on it…methinks it is more than just a manufacturing defect?

Having a HJs burger that looks like the airbrushed buttcheek of Kate Hudson is equal parts alluring and just plain weird to me.

        • The cheeseburger and bbq cheeseburger I consumed yesterday didn't have seeds…

  • -1

Mine came with sesame seed on the bun.

  • +1

Didn't work in WA for me. Not sure if the promotion is invalid throughout the state or if the staff had no idea of the promotion.

  • (Sunshine Coast QLD) I tried today on the way home from work just after 12pm & was told NO, they had not heard of the deal :(

  • Just received an email from Hungry Jacks that this offer is only available in South Australian stores.

    • +2

South Australian exclusive? Is that the first time in..ever? Must be to combat that pesky new doughnut store that shall not be named…

      • +2

That bloody KK. Its changed SA. People lining up at all hours of the night, C R A Z Y. (Quicker to fly to Melbourne)

  • is there a 4 cheeseburger limit like maccas?
