Hi hj0809. Thanks for the question. QikLodge uses an accountant to prepare the return for the user. This is often faster and easier for some people than DIY. It also provides people with an alternative if they do not wish to use eTax or myTax.

Hi dasher86, the returns are prepared and lodged by a Registered Tax Agent.
You are only allow to use E Tax from Www.ato.gov.au website…..otherwise all your personal detail will be in danger.
This app must have a big tick from ATO, otherwise you will be deep shit if all your personal detail get shared in the Internet.
The ATO has another official option, myTax, available also on smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android). It's even easier than eTax. It's also free.

FAQ from their site indicates the below:
Pritchard Accounting is a chartered accounting firm and registered tax agent. Pritchard Accounting is the tax agent that will review and lodge your tax return based on the information submitted using QikLodge.
Price seems to be based on how complex your tax return is however no starting price is listed.
To lodge the return, you will need to pay a fee based on the complexity of your tax affairs. The cost will be displayed for your review before you lodge any tax information.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, they cover themself very well.
3.1 While QikLodge will use reasonable care in providing the app to you, QikLodge cannot guarantee that the app will be error free or your use of the app will be un-interrupted.
3.2 QikLodge gives no express or implied warranties about the app or your use of it. Your use of the app is at your sole risk.
4.1 To the extent permitted by law (including Australian Consumer Law), you agree that QikLodge shall not be liable for any loss or damage in connection with the app, regardless of how that loss or damage may be caused.
5.1 The purpose of the app is to facilitate the preparation and lodgement of your tax return using a registered tax agent. You must not rely on the app to ascertain your taxation liabilities or obligations, or claim entitlements under taxation law. The tax agent, not QikLodge, will be responsible for preparing your return and providing you with an estimate of your tax liability or refund. The terms applying to the tax agent’s work are set out in “Tax Agent – Terms of Service” below.
6.1 By using the app, you consent to the transmission of personal information to the registered tax agent. The way the tax agent collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy available here.
6.2 You are responsible for the security of the password used to log into the app and also the security of the device upon which the app is installed. QikLodge does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage resulting from the unauthorised use of the app and/or the unauthorised access to your device. You should contact us immediately if you believe any authorised use or access has occurred or could take place (for example, your device is stolen).
6.3 To ensure the security of your information, you must also remove the app from your device if you sell or give the device to a third party.
Meh. Half to one hour job for most people with the FREE ATO etax software without the hassle of copying invoices, receipts etc. If you have complex tax affairs a la Eddie Obeid then you're better off establishing a relationship with an accountant who understands your needs and tax laws.
Hi Possumbly, whilst the app guides people to claim a number of deductions, it is definitely not designed to be used by the Eddie Obeid's of the world. The app is for people who want to use an accountant but don't want to travel to their offices or arrange an appointment.
