On paper Performance ok, but newer batch drives real performance would surpass it

Personally, I love the Samsung ssd range. Good performance per $, reliable, and they have great software to help clone, give easy firmware updates, and optimise/check performance. After you have installed a new ssd and got used to the faster speeds, you will appreciate using the nice software to keep an eye on smooth running of your system.

Why wouldn't you just get the Samsung 840 Evo 250GB for $4 less and 'faster' SSD and 10GB more space?

Pretty reliable drive which is good since MSY don't do refunds.
I've gotten refunds for DOA products before from MSY no questions asked.
Getting the 8Gb flash drive for 10c is dependent upon first buying one of the SSD's, just to clarify that it is NOT a standalone offer.
