SmartLab Science Kits $29.99 ($49.95 elsewhere)
Haynes Internal Combustion Engine $39.99 ($64.95 elsewhere)
Petrol Pressure Washer $329 + Angle Grinder 1200W $29.99 (3yr warranties)
normal prices can be a bargain when not always available and less than same/similar items elsewhere :)
He kinda has a fair point, I guess.
Take for example Aldi snow gear, which OzBargainers love. When this comes around, it's temporary, but they're still "normal" prices as Aldi won't sell them for more. However, they're not always available and is much less for the same/similar elsewhere.
These are their normal prices.
Why is this a bargain?
Except that their specials are not 'normal prices.' They are limited stock at a greatly reduced price compared to similar items elsewhere. The fact that they may release it again in a year's time, (again for a week) doesn't make it any less a bargain now.
They'll be reduced in a couple of weeks.
Looks like your logic is based purely on an item being 'on sale' or reduced. Wouldn't a bargain actually be something bought or available for purchase which is much more cheaply than is usual or expected?
So comparing these items here at Aldi to a like or similar item which you could purchase elsewhere for typically much more would constitute the item from Aldi to be a bargain.
Yes, great if an item is reduced, but for it to make it to a reduced price at Aldi requires for the item to still be available after a couple of weeks….not always the case, and by then selection options will be limited. I wouldn't call an item that you can no longer purchase a 'bargain' for oneself…..since it was a 'bargain' for the person who managed to get one.

No. The items in the catalogue are normal price and the OP hadn't shown how they are cheaper than elsewhere… (although they added that part after I posted)
JV, I mentioned it once and got 15 negs. People are sensitive of Aldi deals. I have stopped commenting either positive or negative on Aldi deals.

Yep there are a few creeps on here with Aldi special buy fetishes but I guess you can get this type of following with any major store.

I only got 8… :(
These discussions about whether this is a legitimate post always make me giggle. Who cares? Its a bargain site! If someone thinks they've found a bargain that someone else can benefit from, then I'm glad they have taken the time to post it! Rules Schmules.
If we don't like it, we can move on! So funny when people make such a fuss. (And not LOL funny but "fair dinkum people are weird" funny!)
Normal prices or not- I think the consumer can decide.
Who cares?

(You're welcome)
That solar system thing is awful. I bought it for my son's birthday a few years ago; it was loud, annoying and quickly thrown out.
Did the same thing with my ex wife
Any suggestions regarding the petrol pressure washer?
Add petrol and water. ;)
Keep neighbourhood kids off your lawn
Wash things with petrol? Gas Fight?
I'm interested in the USB microscope. But does anyone know if it's Mac compatible?
It's pictured connected to a MacBook but that doesn't mean a thing.
amazon has more options too http://www.amazon.com/Carson-60X-100X-MicroMax-Microscope-MM…
and, http://www.amazon.com/Celestron-Handheld-Digital-Microscope-…
Looks like fun, but I know nothing about what specs I should look for.
Maybe one day Macs will be capable of using standard USB devices.
Then they will finally be classed as proper computers.
We're on ozbargain you know.
These are their normal prices.
