  • Don't get caught up in this ozbargain. This company doesn't allow most services to run on their machines. They are also under DDOS attacks often so your vps will lag alot at times ( not that you could run anything on it anyway). They will also change the price after the year.

    • Hi,

Is there a list of services the do/don't allow?

  • Hi mullsie,

The list of services that we don't allow is pretty minimal and these are simply no game servers or services, IRC servers and proxy servers.

If you're running a web server, mail, ftp, dns, and any other type of application that does not fall into the servers listed above, these will be fine.

We simply don't allow proxy servers because of the misuse of them such as those that download illegal content (torrents, child pornography, etc). Game servers & IRC servers are not allow because of the unwanted DDoS attacks that they attract. While we have DDoS mitigation in place, it's there to better protect our network from the attacks and not to be abused in a way that game and IRC servers would do so.

Please always feel free to contact our sales team at anytime if you have any other questions :)

  • I tried a $20 VPS. It was unusable, completed DDoS'd.

Two weeks later i.e. today, I received an invoice for the next month and logged in to make sure this useless VPS was cancelled.

I couldn't cancel according to Exigent: "Cancellations must be submitted no later than 15 days prior to your next due date… Please make payment for your due invoice to finalise your account before cancelling."

So…. Exigent sends invoices 14 days in advance but wants cancellations made 15 days in advance to con outgoing customers into paying for an 'extra' month.

Its a relief these scumbags don't have my cc.

  • Hi Mullsie

I'm a little concerned about this "completed DDoS'd" comment because we do have DDoS protection in place to keep our services alive while there is an attack on-going. Our DDoS protection system scrubs & soaks any attacks that might happen and keeps our services and network as usual performance while the attack is on-going.

Actually, you can view a recent attack that occurred where we've documented it for those who are interested in reading this information - http://blog.exigent.com.au/our-enterprise-grade-network-incl…

We've also had no issues with our Brisbane network so I be happy to hear from you if you can send an email through to our support team to look into any network issues with your service so we can investigate this for you.

And it is correct that we do have a 14 day cancellation policy (like many companies have cancellation policies) as we also have licenses that we must pay for your virtual service with us. The cancellation policy is also there so that we know that you wish to cancel the service before your new invoice is due and this is certainly outlined in our terms and conditions which I may think that you haven't read? If you don't submit the cancellation request form, we will only see that you want to continue using the service until that form is submitted.

  • Having google'd exigent reviews, I won't waste any further time on you.
