2x 2.5m 4x4 Awning $99 + $30 Post Aus Wide from 4WD Supacentre

90

Not a bad deal on a 4x4 awning.

Not as good as the one last week from these guys (for $149, which included a BBQ https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/152223), but still OK.

Shipping is capped at $30 so it's a max of $129 inc postage.
If you own a 4x4 or go camping, it's safe to say an awning is one of the most handy things to have around.

You can't normally get them to your door for under $200 so you're potentially saving around $70.
Only 50 though…so be quick :)

Just wondering what's the difference in getting this compare to getting a dome tent thingy?

    • +3

This is just like a big fold out roof - perfect for sitting under in the summer, & camping under in the winter.
Obviously an awning is not as enclosed as a tent, although mozzie nets that go around the side (and thus make a proper enclosure) are available.
These awnings are also pretty handy for preparing food in the shade.

    • What he said…plus if you tried to use a dome tent as shade in the summer it would just get too hot

    • thanks guys/girls. I was actually talking about something like this:
      http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Boab-Ga…

      • Ah - you mean a gazebo!
Gazebos/marquees are OK, but they are very bulky to cart around, and do have the tendency to blow away in strong winds.
In comparison an awning is very easy to cart around - it simply folds into a bag on the side of your roof rack. Plus it can be securely roped off ensuring it wont blow away in strong winds.
        Edit: sorry for delayed reply…

    • This semi-permanently fixes to the side of your 4WD. Perfect if you're setup beside your vehicle, useless if you're parked in a busy carpark or camping away from your vehicle.

That Boab Gazebo Hub you linked doesn't include the gazebo, just the tent part. You could DIY it to the side of your 4WD or van, but it might be tricky getting in and out of it.

  • Bought one for my bro's birthday, hope he will like it.
