You don't have to buy the 150 lashes, it is actually one of the (if not the) most expensive twin packs available. Things like XXXX (I know, I know), is something like $39. So you don't have to spend $50.

I think people may be interpreting this incorrectly(or I am). ANY twin pack will give you a free dispenser, they just happened to show the most expensive tap king beer.
Not sure about Tap King price but a case of Fifty Lashes at Dan Murphys is $54.95 and you get 8.28 litres
The tap king is $49.95 and you get 6.4 litres.
Yeah I worked it out a few weeks back…you end up paying around 15% more using the Tap King when compared to buying a carton, but it is better value than buying six packs.
Hard to put a price on the keg-in-the-fridge factor though ;)

I like your work, kirt, in working out the price difference. But it's not that hard for Lion Nathan to price - they seem to put it at a minimum 15% (more often 25%) premium over bottles.
To me this value just does not wash. Ok, tap beer is lovely, but drinking at home still does not provide the same atmosphere as drinking tap at a pub. You tend to drink more from tap at home, since it's easier to keep refilling and harder to keep count than bottles.
By drinking tap king, we're also reducing the amount of packaging generated, not to mention a reduction in freight charges. To top all this off, they lock you into a system by asking for payment for a dispenser! So why are tap king drinkers being punished in beer prices?

Tapking value sits between a 6pack and a case. eg for 150 Lashes
2 pack tapking $49.95 = $7.80/L
1 pack tapking $27.99 = $8.75/L
6 Pack stubbies $19.99 = $9.66/L
24 Pack Stubbies $54.95 = $6.63/LPeople seem to get so angry that tapking cost more per litre than a case. I like the product and will occasionally buy it, especially for events like footy night.

It's a pretty neat system, I picked one up last sale.
But I wish the beers were cheaper and that they had a bit more variety of beers to use in it..
