Chromecast question - can't connect to router

I'm having a hard time with my Chromecast it doest connect with my router my router is from tpg netcomm nb604n I tried adding static route but still no communication. What should I do please help me ozbargainers thanx!! Heaps

    try another router first, make sure you dont have a faulty Chromecast.

    Can other devices wirelessly connect to the router? You might have messed up some settings changing it to a static IP.

    My chromecast connected fine to a dynamic IP.
