This is not their Burning Studio 6 free software its a full blown version. The price is still right -100% off! Burns CD /DVD / Blu-ray. It does basic and advanced burning functions for video and back up etc.

Looks to function the same as their US$50 Burning Studio 14.

Site says:

-Author and create slideshow and video discs
-Create music CDs and MP3/WMA discs

Sign up with a throwaway for any Ashampoo product, they spam the crap out of you with no way to unsubscribe.

I get 1 email a month from them from registering for a 'throwaway' free version. And it's just discounts to full products.

That's hardly spamming the crap out of. You better not go near Vistaprint then…

Oh they have unsubscribe links too on the email.

  • It's also full of nagware.

    • Maybe their studio 6 free version does that? This is not that version.

No, I have 2014 and it definitely pops up ads to upgrade at startup and when closing.

Ashampoo spam the hell out of you once registered (never again)
Check out these tools instead (FREE)
http://www.anyburn.com/ - excellent piece of software.
https://cdburnerxp.se/ - Great all rounder for burning.

Both seem is nice programs but too simple to compare. They don't do DVD menus, in fact they wont even take an .avi and make a playable dvd. cdburnerxp will make vob files into playable dvd's but you still need another converter. Correct me if I'm wrong on that, I only had a few minutes looking at each.

  • CD burner xp is a great product, similar to the old Nero before it went off the rails with feature creep. It's my preferred burning software these days.

Anyburn is excellent for ripping cd/DVD to mp3/flac/etc - but also for making, burning and converting ISO files (is. Cd/DVD images). A very handy tool if you deal with multiple operating systems :)

    • So do either do full DVD menu's like the old nero did? I too was a big nero fan for many years.

+1 for Ashampoo burning studio, much better than the other burning apps.

I agree, most of the others only seem to do only part of the jobs. It might okay for project a but I need another program for project b and another for project c. With this I can do it all in 1 package. Easy.

I think you find the 2014 version is Version 12.0.5 this is the complimentary version. This is not be confused with burning studio 6 FREE which as the name suggests is a free version. The newest product is Version 14 (not 2014 which is V12.0.5). V14 is not this complimentary product.

So they are giving away a version that is not the latest, but its a fully featured version unlike their limited version 6 free product. Still a darn good product for no cost. They are hoping you will love it so much you will upgrade to the V14 but really there is no need.

here is one of the crap ads I have to put up with…

      http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/14180/24115/capture.jpg

it pops up these messages every time at startup and then again when you close it…

Yeah my legit paid for full retail cyberlink and corel products have pops similar. A little ad like that I can live with to get a fully functional product for free. If you don't like it, uninstall it - you didn't pay anything for it.
