Weird… my hand comes with 4 practical hooks and I've got 2 of those. Groceries stores these days have small bags so they can't hold as much and are not as heavy.
Handles look just as skinny as shopping bag handles.
I actually bought a couple of these way back when, at the local $2 shop:
1) People with big hands might find the width constrictive
2) If they haven't changed/improved the formula for the hard plastic, you'll find it will soon 'grind' against the joints of your fingers [NB. I have bony, not fleshy fingers :-( ] when weighed down.
3) In the end, I went and bought/replaced them with some cheap carabiners (also from $2 shop) with that cushy foamy grippy black material on the handles. Aah…much better :-)
