That ad won the Shonky Awards

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwoCNnEuAKMTo be fair… you're not going to buy a bottle of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, etc just to make one meal. Those ingredients will cover at least a dozen meals.
Still, if Coles wanted to play fair they should have stuck only to ingredients purchased with that $10. Would be quite a lame meal. No spices, pepper…
Its possible to feed a family of 4 for $10 dollars, just don't expect variety or good taste.
seriously…
that $10 coles meal only feeds 1 adult…I tried…some of their meals I have to eat 1.5 x $10 much…
I am not a big guy, just average, for people eat morning tea, afternoon tea, and on diet, yes, possible, for a hard worked me, a dinner? no way…
you eat 400grams of chicken thighs, 1 cup of rice, and 400 grams of assorted veg every night?
Coles spaghetti no 5 500g - $1.50
Dolmio Classic Pasta Sauce 500g - $2
Coles 3 star beef mince 1kg - $5
Green Capsicum - $1.50That's $10
If you wanted to get technical, you could charge for 1 teaspoon of oil. i'm not sure one would eat 500gs of spaghetti though.
You do realise they use to work it out ie.
5 pieces of bread $0.25 (5c each) and not take into prospective that you cannot buy simply 5 pieces of bread, but an entire loaf and or half loaf.
Why go to coles when you can get good roadkill for free? Shovel it up and chuck it on the barbie, and spend the $10 on beer.

I certainly do most of my meals for a family of 6 at around $10. Our fanciest meal of the week is usually under $20.
Figure under $1 a serve for breakfast, under $2 for lunch and about $3 a serve for dinner.
