40% off Sygic GPS Navigation for iOS and Android + Free HUD (Eg $69.99 AUD for World + HUD)

50

Sygic is having a sale on all lifetime navigation licences:

World & HUD - $69.99 AUD
Europe & Russia + HUD - $57.99 AUD
Europe + HUD - $42.99 AUD
North Ameria + HUD - $29.99 AUD

HUD normally costs $13.99 AUD.

Sygic had its issues for me in the past, but is now quite a decent app on iOS. Downloadable and interchangable maps for the world for the one price is excellent. Very good value when compared to something like Tomtom, which is around the same cost just for Australia.

Existing licence holders

As a bonus, if you already own one of the above before this sale started like I did (I own 'World' but not HUD), you can uninstall the app, reinstall, don't sign in just yet and re-purchase the 'world + HUD' bundle for free. It will initially say $69.99, but then the App Store detects you've already made the purchase for World and re-activate for free.

I spotted this originally since 'World + HUD' was ticked in my purchases list, but HUD wasn't actually purchased - so the "same" in-app purchase, just a different name. I'm on iOS 7.0.6 so YMMV on Android or any other iOS versions.

  • why is australia so expensive ? is this app better than tomtop or navigon… those who have used, please write a review… i've once heard of this in ozbargain but haven't seen anybody using it. thanks in advance

i always use google maps, which is free and works great but if this one is better i might buy this.

Sygic was the best. Especially as TomTom was useless when first released on the iPhone.
Sygic is still good but not as user friendly. TomTom is pretty good but has got some mixed reviews lately.

Personally my favourite is Navigon. Easy to use and great layout. Navigon is now owned by Garmin as Garmin add more features this has received mixed reviews. The changes have not concerned me.

The other option is MetroView at $23.99
I have not used it but it was pretty good apparently.

All of the ones mentioned seem to be getting mixed reviews lately.

When I was still using an iPhone Metroview was very good. I'm now using Navigon on my Samsung S2 and have been for 3 years now. My TomTom hasn't seen use in a very long while. Re HUD, I thought it was additional hardware. Why would anyone put their phones (granted it was installed on a phone) on the dashboard especially when it's safer to just put it on a holder?

        • It is optional for you to see the display directly in front.

Some people I saw put the holder or GPS below the rear view mirror like in the middle of the front screen which I think it cover your viewing.

Different people has different opinion but since HUD is free why not try it and if you don't like it then use the holder.

note: i use clear non slip dash mat so the phone won't go anywhere :)

          enjoy and drive safely.

        • Be careful with the dash mat. I used one in summer and it melted into my dash. Completely ruined the dashboard.

        • @imp:
          thanks for the warning

    • thanks guys

  • how to use HUD? do you need extra hardware or just the reflection of mobile phone?

    • as seen on the link damion provided, you'll have to leave your phone on the dashboard which slips while driving unless you use an antislip mat (or something like that) and it only works in the night. looks cool when you can see it on the windscreen at night but wont work during the day.

  • Thanks OP. Existing licence is working with HUD after entering the activation code.

  • Google maps now has navigation. So yeah.

  • Do you need separate licences for Android and iOS? I thought World map was $49 without the HUD in the last sale?

  • I have been using Sygic for more than 3 years now.. no issue at all, find signal and re-route very fast, comes with all advanced features..
and you can use without having internet… it doesn't use internet..

  • I use OSMand from the google play store.
Free for up to 10 maps…very handy when OS when limited or no data
    Uses no internet.
Served me well in France and italy.

  • You can also use the discount/referral code REF5282RSCQUB3624 in combination with this deal to get a further 25% off, bringing the total cost for world maps HUD bundle down to EUR37.49 (~AUD$53.74) - saving an additional $16.25.
