10 Piece Lock and Lock Food Storage Containers $19.99 at Aldi

180

These food containers are fantastic. Very air tight and great for transporting liquids as they have a rubber seal around the lid. Normally quite pricey and not often discounted.

This ten piece pack includes: 2 x 240ml, 3 x 620ml, 3 x 1.1L and 2 x 1.5L

nice. actual 10 pieces and not a pyrex metric where even the cover is 1 piece.

  • are these pyrex/glass or just plastic?

these are similar to the sistema ones that often go on sale at coles. Good quality.

I find these better quality than the sistema ones. I have both. The lock and lock containers tend to keep their airtight seal and spill proof for a lot longer than the sistema containers.

The rubber seal on the Sistema ones is a joke. You'd think it would seal, but at least for me, no. And i'm not talking huge amounts of liquid, but say a stir fry with a bit risidual liquid, inivetibaly it will leak. Luckily i put it in a safety plastic bag before carting it around. Haven't tried this brand.

Agree with you there danyool. My sistema ones worked when they were brand new but after a while they would leak juice from sliced tomatoes into my bag. I wasn't storing a huge amount f liquid either. You should give these containers a go. The one that I have has been great.

Well now that youve bought them its too late i suppose, but you could try and remedy that by putting some cling wrap on before you shut the lid. it might help =)

    Are they BPA free?
    Edit: Yes they are.

  • We have them and to be honest the lids are bloody annoying to use. At first they are great but the lids get harder and harder to put on with every use until it is a nightmare. My girlfriend struggles to use them now and gets me to close them now and I can do it by overwhelming force, glad to see all those hours doing weights has come in handy. They are like our last resort Tupperware now and we are thinking of buying some more just to get rid of them.

However having said that 20 bucks is probably a good price for them and worth it.

    • If it's the same set you already own, you could always buy a new set, and then take back the old ones with the new receipt. By the sounds of it you do have the right to return them anyhow as they are no longer functioning as intended, but the "buy new and return old" method just makes it easier for all involved…

Wow, I'm surprised that Aldi has stocked Lock & Lock containers & not their own similar no name brand like normal. Our best containers by far, though they do take a bit of effort (I always saw it as a good sign, don't have the same trouble that kasp has).

    • perhaps it's more that I get called by my girlfriend to do it when I am in the middle of something it shits me more than usual.

  • Went to buy a couple of boxes of these, only to find they're ugly-roundish-bottom containers and not the nice square pantry friendly ones. :(

I have a few of these (got them in usa and HK for around 5 bucks each for one)
very good quality, doesn't leak!, they have locks on all 4 sides, unlike other brands

I got the cheap ones from coles/woollies and ikea ones and those leak

not as nice as the ones you get overseas (the round bottom) but still cheap, most have the same size lids so you can swap.
