ever since I got my THL w8 been really impressed with clone phones as great value than branded and decided never to go back…..however I am keen on the waterproof option of the sony branded Xperia Z from JB at $369 (got a $100 gift card with them) but wondering can I get waterproofing in a chinese clone phone?
Yeah prob cant trust it 100% but it might be less than $369 and worth a gamble….if there are such phones?

There's very little info I can dig up regarding the clone. A lot of companies produce the S5 clone, all with varying specs and some with 'waterproofing' features, but it's very likely that none of them will hold up very well against water. The only thing that makes these phones waterproof are the rubber grommets that seal off the battery compartment, the sealed 3.5mm plug and the rubber flaps that seal the charging port. If ANY of these safeguards fail and become loose, you end up with a dead and wet phone.
I have Xperia Z, love it! it's free on a $29 plan with vodafone. Waterproof is great for showers, baths and cleaning the germs once a week under the tap. Try to get Xperia Z1, with a better screen and faster chip. One Plus One will have a waterproofing phone next year.

Lenovo made a few water resistant phones like the LENOVO S750. It's a MTK 6589 device with pretty low end specs.
