    No Goat Simulator :(

Compare this to the "Champions Offers" on the the AU site and its easy to see why so many recommend US accounts :(

    • Australia tax because F&$+ you that's why.

Yep, actually I spend most of my money on Steam these days, despite having PS1-2-3-4 in my games room, it's my Steam PC that's getting most of the action now. Have grown sick and tired of regional differences, and it's further aggravated by the fact that that I have lived in 3 different countries and am stuck with 3 different PSN accounts… yet ONE Steam account has served me well everywhere! "No worries, just load up the accounts on the unit" … enter my PS Vita which supports 1 account at a time!

Sure there isn't always regional price parity on Steam but the ability to shop around for prices is far better. My PC has probably effectively cost me less than any of my consoles when you add up system + games prices.

Would the downvoter care to make a statement against my points?

        • +4

Maybe they're jealous of your games room?

Wasn't me, but I do wish I had a games room, or a man cave :-)

      • You can't really compare PC gaming to gaming on a PS Vita. Different experience.

I completely moved to a US account because of this (since Vita forces 1 account per memory card only, another dick move from Sony) just earlier this year and it was worth it, my only regret was not moving to it earlier when PS+ gave more quality games and missing out on 1 year for $30 from amazon

    • The grass is always greener on the other side…

I've been US PSN account on the get go, coming from the country and oftentimes I wished I have an AU PSN Account (Re: AU PSN sale around New Year '14 when Okami was reduced to close to or less than $10).

If you've been on US PSN account more than half of these games have been given out for free on PS+. There hasn't been much sales on PSN classics though, so I'll grab some of those. Thanks OP!

Note: I recommend The Cave, like most Double Fine games it's quite humorous and fun.

Good post op! My account is AU. I have been intending to get US account myself. Can anyone recommend the best/economical way to top up US account?

    • +1

Check the previous USA psn sale thread.
You can use a PayPal account to put $5 into your psn USA wallet.
Let me know if you need any help.

      • Thanks for the suggestions guys. With Paypal and Amazon, you need US billing address, don't you? I only have AU credit cards.

        • Just make your billing address for PayPal a US address they didn't check mine. Our at least wasn't an issue as I made an USA PayPal account.

          @Scaregdearimasu:

I see. I'll look into this. Many thanks.

Just google a supermarket/restaurant chain in a state without sales tax (like McDonald's in Alaska) and copy that address. Not sure if amazon checks where your card was issued or not but my cba debit card was rejected but my ME bank issued card was accepted with no problems.

          @xers:
Worth a try i suppose. Thx!!

  • Got papa yo and toejam and earl thanks!

All i want is the classic Crash Bandicoot games :D

    • They had those for 99c a few months back!

  • Velocity Ultra for 99c is worth every cent

  • Damn it! Need another memory card to have US PSN on my Vita.

    Can't recommend these games enough:
    - Dino Crisis series
    - Syphon Filter series

You do? That sucks my understanding was you also had to full format to switch between USA and AUS psn accounts Is that still true? Really hope they make this easier via firmware before I pick up a vita.

      • I believe that's still the case. There's little no no chance Sony will make this easier, owners like myself have been asking for this since PSN came to the PSP!

        • Sigh and I thought sony would finally be the video game savior to end all this region bull Crap. Well at least offline titles are majoritively region free. Now if we could just get dvd and bluray regions to stop being a thing.

        • +1

          @Scaregdearimasu:

Yep its still full format when switching, sucks!

        • @Tm15:
Well is the format at least a quick format or is it a full overwrite (hours?).

  • US PS+ ftw

  • Double Dragon Neon $1 - Hell Yeah!!

  • +1

One account per card I can live with but having to basically do a factory reset on the system every time is too much.

  • The Cave is a pretty good game.

I will also pick up Legend of Dragoon because a lot of people said that was good, though I'm not sure how well it holds up.

  • There's PlayStation emulators that run great on Android, an easy and cheap portable gaming setup.

    • +2

Touch screen buttons are the worst. You could carry around those controller addons but that sort of defeats the purpose of having games in your phone IMO.

    • If you want to emulate PS1, the best place to do it is with PSP.

  • Cool. I just bought 11 games. Australian PSN never gets deals this good. I don't think it even has a PS1/2 section anymore, only that discover section.

    • You don't want to buy PS1/2 games from AU store ever. You will get the 50hz versions which have issues with them being slower and bordered. 50hz itself is an issue if trying to play them on handheld.

This was a problem with the Wii U virtual console for PAL territories too. They were getting the slower 50hz versions.

For an idea of what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSSYo0npMhA

  • Why not just get an original psp and put a custom firmware on it and you can play 99% of all ps1 games perfectly?

    • That would be best for PS1 games, but there are PS2 and PS3 games on this sale as well which you can't play on a PSP.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed 8 titles, including the Syphon Filter series….great memories

  • So I make a us account on my ps3 and then I can get these games correct?

Can these games the be played under my AUS account ?

If I delete my us account will these game then be lost?

    • Yes.
      Yes.
Yes, but if you re-add that US account you can play them again. ie not lost, just inaccessible while the account that owns the content is not there.

      • Got them on my PS3, don't know how to play on my Vita though :-(
Anyone have any idea on how to do that, seems to be linked to my Aussie account

        • Account swapping/sharing on Vita is not something I am very familiar with. It is not nearly as easy as on the PS3/PS4. Somebody here will hopefully elaborate on that.

    • -Yes, provided you have a way of paying for it in US currency. Only AMEX cards work, or you can buy a prepaid card from Amazon using a US address.

      -Yes, absolutely.

-Why would you delete your account?

If by delete your account you mean delete it from PSN, I would presume it's gone for good. But if you mean just removing it from your PS3 profiles, then the games will still be linked to your account if you re-add it.

  • Thanks OP!
Got 5 games cos I had to put on $5.
Used my bank issued Amex and picked an American zip code/suburb/ state, used my normal street address.
Wish AU store would have sales like this!

  • I bought

    Wild Arms 1 + 2 (Vita)
    Dino Crisis 1 + 2 (Vita)
Legend of Dragoon (PS3 then transfer to Vita)
    Machinarium (Vita)
    The Cave (PS3)

    $6.93

    Pretty happy with that

    • DL'd to PS3, won't let me transfer to Vita though. How'd you do that Cyrax83?
