I'm thinking buying this one, is it worth it? or should i buy Samsung or Panasonic?
I just need a normal HD TV
I don't need 3D, I just hate if they send me a defective unit (hate the hassle to send it back or getting the refund)
You shouldn't be looking for a non 3D TV as you will be limiting your choices.
i would compare it to previous deals on here. you should be able to get a brand name for that much and with in a week. not waiting until the 4th of august for it to leave the warehouse in china/hk. i'd probably get the 4k tv if i was going to get a kogan. saying that all my experiences buying from kogan has been excellent but i have only purchased dslr canon camera gear from there.
one of my coworkers bought the 4k version for his dad and was pleasantly surprised.
heard lot of reviews, good and bad, dilemma
This is my first comment on Ozbargain and only because I couldn't allow someone else to end up having the problems that I had with Kogan regarding this TV. Last year I bought the model you were thinking about buying which turned out to be the worst experience I've ever had with online or retail purchasing. I was without a TV for 5 months and had to unpack and repack 6 times because of quality issues regarding the screen. With the first TV I could see the individual LED lights shining brightly at the top left edge and to a lesser extent the right hand side. The next two had bright areas clearly seen about 30 cm in diameter on the screen which resembled someone shining 6 torches onto the screen. This was apparent whether the screen was dark as in letterbox fashion, between scenes etc. or when something was playing, i.e. a video. Remember this if you buy a TV from Kogan you have to wait for it to arrive in Australia, be processed and then couriered to your address but not only that if you have a problem 4 weeks after you get it, like I did, in all likely-hood you will have to go through the same process again and again which happened to me. I gave up after 5 months of the run-a round. Don't touch their stuff as the potential for disaster is too easy and once that happens, nothing but pain. I ended up buying a HiSense 58" for $959 with free delivery which ended up being not that much more than the Kogan and arrived the next day. Good luck
A Panasonic TV will most likely beat a Samsung or this Kogan TV when it comes to picture quality. Panasonic TVs are also generally more expensive.
