Any issues with ozstock.com.au?

I have noticed numerous references to Ozstock on OzBargain

These references have been in relation to products they sell which my appeal to OzBargain buyers.

I recently purchased a bike product off their web site.

When delivered it was defective. Over the last 2 days I have rang them on numerous occasions and sent emails aswell - and no reply!!

Their contact details are [email protected] and 02-9748 0600.

A search on the web at http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2274834 has revealed that other buyers have had no proper response from Ozstock also.

The lack of response is very concerning - I am stuck with a product that doesn't work and I am stuck with a seller that doesn't respond.

Should OzBargain members be concerned???

What should I do next??

    I'm not sticking up for ozstock here (god only knows how many defective / break in 1 day iPhone charging cables they have sold me over the years) but I think you have to understand these businesses offer low prices through direct importing and then having low overheads with few or no customer support reps. We need to either pay more and have good service or accept that when we pay less we will get shabby service. In a perfect world it shouldn't be like this but in Australia where your average pleb costs a business $35-40 per hour (inc on costs) and the average margin on one of their sales is probably less than this amount (sometimes measured in cents) well, you get the drift……I am sure if you give them a few days you'll get a response.

      This morning I checked my emails - no reply from Ozstck customer support!!

      However, I have received numerous offers to purchase other goods via their email distribution.

      They are obviously busy selling more goods - to busy to give any customer support.

      A search on the web at http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2274834 has revealed that other buyers have had no proper response from Ozstock also.

      NSW Fair Trading will be my next stop!!

      • I ended up getting a no hassle refund - I think the accounts dept only works twice a week.

        Anyway - all's good.
