Normally $19.50 per adult ticket, so thats a measly 36% off.

Yes, you're right. Telstra Thanks may be able to hook you up. But I suppose this deal is for everyone else that isn't getting ripped off for their phone plans.
EDIT: After checking out Tel-Thnx, Telstra customers are able to get two tickets for $22, no booking fee. So if you have a log in, get on it! :)
You can get access to Telstra Thanks tickets by buying a $2 SIM. No need to pay Telstra any more than that.
Even better! And at a total cost of $24 (movies plus SIM), that's a decent deal.
If you are using the Telstra $10-15 simcards for your ipad (or have a Telstra phone account) you get $11 tickets for any movie (exc Sat night & Pub Hols) through the Telstra 24/7 app.
