  • Sorry but I feel this price is not cheap. In sure it's cheaper last time

When was this?. I can't find a thread showing it as being cheaper before. Going by the thread history this is the cheapest that it's been.

Maybe you're mistaking for the M-80 version.

This definitely is cheap for the m-100. I paid about $250, and that was the cheapest I'd ever seen them.

  • This is about the best price i have seen for the M-100's. The previous cheap V-Moda deal was for the smaller (on the ear style) M-80's.

These are awesome headphones for portable use. I have headphones that cost more than these (and do sound better) but i use the m-100 95% of the time, because i mainly listen portably, and the tradeoff between sound quality and convenience of the compact folding mechanism is totally worth it. They still sound great, but are easily the most portable headphone (without sacrificing too much sound quality/bass).

    highly recommended!

if you prefer more balanced headphones rather than bassy, then you might consider the v-moda XS instead.

  • how does this compare to the ath m50's?

I bought these full price from Amazon US and is by far one of the best for the $300 range. I had listened to the ATH M50 before, I didn't like the sound signature because of the treble, there's this chhh sound when for light bass on trance songs that I found annoying, the M100 doesn't have that. It is definitely V shaped, the bass is deep, but you have to burn it in for at least 50 hours, when I first listened to it, the bass was very tight. I ran one of those Youtube pink noise 10 hour ones for 5 times and man… the difference is amazing. It goes lower, the bass is more controlled and not muddy. The only problem I have is that if you listen to it for more than an hour, it makes my ears sweaty, so I take a break from it.

I had a chance to try out the Beyer Custom One Pro a few months ago and that was extremely bassy, if you like trance, go for the Beyer instead. I'm still waiting for the price to drop to below $170 but it hasn't since 2012.

At the end of the day, music is personally. Don't believe all the reviews you read. You need to try it yourself. I personally find the Sennheiser Momentum very over rated, the M100 sounds more fun (lively). Actually the Sennheiser sound is something you either come to love or you hate it, I'm the later.
