Unpaid leave affects credit card application?

it started from the useless citibank cc application. i still have received the results of my application for the signature card.

so i wanted to start over and submit a new application. however, i had quite a few weeks of unpaid leaves for family reason in the past a few months. the numbers on my payslips certainly dont look very attractive, although i am on the same job.

guys, any suggestions? should i just wait (after a few months of wait, they finally managed to talk to my employer last week and told me they were processing my application and would let me know the results in 3-5 business days) or try my luck to reapply?

  • Depends on what credit limit your asking for. Apply and the worst that will happen is its declined.

  • Do you have a letter of employment stating what your annual full time wage is? That might help.

  • Wait it out, hopefully it's 3-5 days but I'd give it longer since they recently spoke to your employer

  • it's been over 10 days now. if they reject me, it is ok and then i can apply for other cards. but the endless waiting time really kills me. i check my email a few times every hour and hope for any emails coming from citibank.
