Check best before dates at Cocos, as some may not be as fresh as the major supermarkets, but it's cheap!

Also stocks products I've never heard of before like FLUFF MARSHMALLOW SPREAD 213G $2.00 / SAVE $3.20 ;-) [pun deleted]

    • They had some $3.50 fish oil last week but expiry in august 2014 so always check. Plenty of other really cheap products were fine.

rancid fats aren't good for you. still there's probably a bit of life left in them

        • Yeah, I wasn't getting through 400 capsules in the next 5 weeks so passed on them. Rancid fish oil is probably not good for your breath either.

      • There is no way I'd pay for those. Even free I'd give it a miss.

my mind is boggling at the thought of a marshmallow spread

  • +1

what ppl never heard of fluff or marshmellow spread before? :O

    • May be a regional delicacy (in Tas) like chocolate covered marshmallow fish to Kiwis ;-) yum!

    You go Sam Coco

tim tams. marsmallow spread. instant meals. good thing the hospital is nearby.

    • … and ambulance service is free in QLD!

      • No. It's not free check either your rates or water bill it's added to one of those.

        • +1

True, but as you have already contributed, there is no charge when you are rushed to hospital (also not free, but again no fee in a State hospital). Add to that almost any service you are not directly charged for provided by Governments - paid by taxes. Not much that is actually free if you go down that road - and you also paid for use of that road!

Really, it was a joke response to a Victorian about needing medical care after eating all the sweet substances contained in this deal, not a political discussion ;-)

I used to go there so my experience is : always check expiry dates on products at sam cocos - either products are already expired or have very short life.
And i find fruits/vegetables way cheaper at rockela , west end market and taigum
Eg watermelon @25c each (about 4 kg) @ rocklea market
And at cocos ,cheapest is 99c/kg (about $4 each) and list goes on….

    • i got a 19c/kg whole seedless watermelon yesterday from my local yesterday. i haven't cut it open yet so i can't comment on how nice it is. the cut display slice looked ok.

Ah, but where can you buy cheaper Tim Tams?

      99c/kg bananas over weekend
      1c each capsicum last week.

A while ago they had Capillano honey that had crystallized at ΒΌ normal price. A friend who worked for Capillano had the job of reheating the honey to fix the issue.

I only go there if I'm in the area & there is a good special at Cocos or the Chop Shop for meat (in same building).

      • A stall at the Rocklea Markets had $1 packs of 200g Tim Tams recently, short dated but not yet expired. And Tim Tams are pretty easy to eat within a couple of weeks.

I used to go to Coco's all the time about 5 years ago. Went there maybe a year ago and was shocked at the poor quality of products. The cans on special were all rusty! (yes cans of food)

    • 99cents is still a tonne cheaper than woolies.

  • It's always strange to see people from Perth & Melbourne vote or comment on a deal like this which most people in Brissie aren't that excited by. Thanks :-)

Hell, I don't even eat Tim Tams anymore, so I won't be buying :-(

  • does cocos only have the one store now. I remember a few on the gold coast but I don't think they are around any more.
