DSE EBAY Sennheiser Momentum Headphones 45% off RRP Buy It Now $161.24 (before 20% off!)

330

Hi Guys,

Sorry first deal I don't really know what I'm doing…

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SENNHEISER-Momentum-On-Ear-Headph…

Sennheiser momentums are 45% off on the DSE ebay store - which is cheap to begin with, but if they honour the extra 20% off this morning it will be a real bargain I think.

Probably worth mentioning DSE have plenty of bad feedback on ebay tho.

Don't forget to use Cashrewards for 2% cashback on your eBay purchases.

Cheers,
Bogrolls.

Note these are the cheaper On-Ear, not the Over-Ear version.

Difference: On-Ear is the smaller portable version, and apparently Over-Ear has better sound (and more expensive too)

      I have used both on-ear and over-ear
If you use them outdoor on-ear is better as they were engineered for outdoor use
Nonetheless i love all momentum headphones

    • these aren't leather earpad either

  • This or the M50x?

    • +1

      m50x

      • -2

Lol this is why you shouldn't ask for headphone advice on ozbargain. The momentums are in a different class to the m50, bit like comparing a Toyota to a BMW .

        • +2

Even though I'd say the Momentums sound better, the Momentums are overrated.

        • Yep, the momentums shouldn't have the $500 price tag on them. At most $300 is reasonable price tag for them.

          http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/electrical/tv-audio/head…

Picture shows the over-ears and description says on-ears.. Anyway, they have a $450 price tag. You can try them out @Myer Sydney City at the top level.
Very nicely made, but definitely overrated.

        • We'll I got them for less than the m50x..so not sure how it's a better buy? Unless you need sound isolation.

Are you talking about the Momentum On-Ears or Momentum Over-Ears?
On-Ear $130 is normal price on Amazon [don't know if they're shippable to Aus though]
Over-Ear is $250+ on Amazon, from memory are around $300 for grey imports
I find it hard to believe you were able to acquire over-ears for less than the m50x.

M50X is comparable to the Momentum Over-ears if we're going to do a fair comparison, not the Momentum On-Ears (this deal).
M50X is in a different price range to the Momentum Over-ears if you wanted to talk about different 'class'

        • I don't want to disagree, just re-word. Instead of overrated, Overpriced! Even under $300. Most headphones over $100 are overpriced, that's why you see them discounted so much. To put it in prospective for you fellow Ozbargainers, Half the Earth's population earns less than US $500 a Month, and out of those about half again ( 2 Billion ) earn under US $200 per month, over a Billion do not even earn US $100 a month, and most have to work for 45 to 60 hrs.+ a week in bad conditions. Most headphones are made in countries with low wages. A few dollars worth of plastic, steel, copper etc. some R & D, packaging and paper. The rest is marketing, wholesale, duties/tax and big retail mark-up. If you got this far, that was my late night rant. Holland just beat Mexico in World Cup, happy now :-)

        • Yeah, the Dutch has just bought me dinner for a week, yeehoo!

        • I know the on-ear and over-ear are different. Ultimately just want to know which one sounds better irrespective of price

          Momentum On-Ear or the M50x?

It's hard to find a store that stocks both of them to do a back to back test. I've listened to both of them, however in different environments so it's hard to do a direct comparison

        • @TeeJay:
On ear without a doubt, I own both. The m50 is overrated

    • Depends on your head size.

If you have a small head on-ear Momentums are probably comfortable.

I couldn't wear them for more than 15 minutes without discomfort, so these are now my wife's.

Then got the M50x. The leatherette pads are very hot. Replaced with velour, and could wear them for hours comfortable. And I would call the sound of the M50x more accurate than the Momentums.

However, now have HD650s. They are comfortable out of the box, and the sound they can produce is amazing.

OMG I have to stop buying more headphones!

  • Thanks OP.

Does anyone know if DSE supply a Tax Invoice with purchases? Ordered a few other things so hoping to claim back the GST too :)

    • +1

      Yes they most definitely do.

  • Excellent price.

  • +1

Just a warning, these are -really- small / tight. They look great but def. made for a smaller head sadly

  • How do you get the extra 20% off?

  • Oh man, I'd be all over this if it were the over-ear version.

  • Was tempted but read on ear :( who wants sore ears after using their headphones? anyone..?

  • How long does DSE take to deliver to Sydney?

    • Usually takes 2 days for me.

  • Can these be used as a gaming headset for mic usage or do I need a splitter of some sort?

  • Anyones' order is shipped yet?

    • Order arrived today in Melbourne. Purchased it on Sunday morning

      • Ordered same day, but mine hasn't even been shipped

      • even I ordered on sunday early morning hours. Haven't even got the shipment notification to Melbourne. :(

        • Maybe it was because we ordered a different colour?

          Mine were black.

        • mine's black as well. You ordered using the 20% off coupon on ebay?

        • @heavyarms: got shipment notification on friday

  • Got mine from the eBay deal, and can say that I am very satisfied for the
Price paid, 128 bucks. Clearly more enjoyable sound signature when compared to my m50, the bass is much more noticeable without being over powering. There is a bit of clamping force, but I am hoping that it gets looser with time
