  • The DCD785M2 and the DCD785M2-XE are the same drill set.

The DCD785M2 is written on the front of the box but at the bottom where the bar-code is you will find the DCD785M2-XE number.

Here are some pics from it.

  • Anyone know if this is brushless?

    • it is not brushless.

    • No it's not brushless.

      • Thanks for the reply guys! One more question, since this is a hammer drill driver, is it any good at screwing into hardwood studs and such or am I better off getting a impact driver drill? thanks again

        • Depending on how hard the 'hardwood' is you might be able to get screws in. I find that pre-drilling these woods can prevent splitting and is not as harsh on the drill. An impact driver would be perfect for driving in screws in hardwood!

  • picked up last one from bunnings albion this arvo. scanned at special price. no price matching was required.

  • In true OzBargain fashion I didn't let my earlier defeat get the better of me and my persistance has paid off - I managed to get one of the drill kits here in WA with the 2 x 4.0Ah batteries (on my way into work)…..and better yet I got it for $178

    • went to the local bunnings this morning, was told this is one day only special. Any one bought extra one @ SYD?

    • Which Bunnings tighty?

      • private message sent

        • @ tight-ass,
          Which Bunnings?

I asked a relative to stop by the Bibra-Lake store on the way to work and he said they wouldn't do it even though he showed them the receipt from the same store that an Oz-bargainer posted here yesterday.

        • I doubt very much anyone else will have any luck getting the drill with 2 x 4.0Ah batteries from the Bibra Lake store. When I went to the Cannington branch last night they clicked on straight away that this price doesn't apply to WA stores. The lady saw the copy of the receipt and that it was from the Bibra Lake store and said she was going to ring them up straight away to tell them them they stuffed up and to stop selling them at that price.

  • I see a fellow OzBargainer is trying to make a little profit out of their purchase - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DeWalt-18v-Li-Ion-XR-2-Speed-Hamm…

    • Thats a shame, was trying to find one for myself and all sold out

There were still a couple left at Penrith at 09:00hrs today - still scanned at $198. Be quick…

  • No socket or spanner sets left at Bunnings Oakleigh South or Moorabbin - I bought the last socket set at Oakleigh South, and found out in the car park that someone had swapped the case with the 39 piece 1/4 + 3/8 drive box - http://www.bunnings.com.au/sidchrome-39-piece-1-4-3-8-drive-… - pretty ordinary set because I don't have any other 3/8 drive stuff, there's no extension bars, and no 1/4 ratchet, it's just a screwdriver type driver. I was going to Moorabbin to pickup the last spanner set there, and the lady told me there was the last socket set on hold but the guy hadn't said when he was coming to pick it up, so she sold it to me, and I was able to return the 3/8 drive set there too. Sorry to the fella who had the set on hold at Moorabbin, and thanks to the person who advised of this great deal.

  • What is the difference between Bosch PSB18VLI-2 Impact Drill ($229) and this Dewalt DCD785M2-XE Hammer Drill ($198). Can we use both for concrete and hard wood?. Any expert please advice.

    • About $31. While they will both technically drill into concrete, in my experience older concrete requires a heavier drill to penetrate it. I find that cordless drills and lighter corded hammer drills tend to just 'bounce' and not really get anywhere into harder concrete. Green concrete is another matter, when it's under a year old it's still quite soft and easier to drill. Hardwood relies on having a nice sharp bit. I can drill hardwood with a cheap Ozito 12V as long as the bit has a good edge.

    • @ ricky123,
That's a Bosch green which is for DIY occasional use and not meant for everyday trade use like the Bosch blue range. It's still pretty powerful with 50Nm torque and will drill into concrete.

I'm pretty sure this Dewalt DCD785M2 is a tradie tool and has 4.0Ah batteries whereas that Bosch green one has 1.5Ah batteries. That means the Dewalt will run a long time between charges.

    • Thanks everybody for the prompt reply. So I will go with Dewalt.

  • Seven Hills Bunnings as of 2PM, still got 4 to 5 left

  • Much like my eBay purchases yesterday, I didn't really need it but picked up the Dewalt kit today. No one at work knew about the offering so I spread the word. Sold 4 or 5 and had 4 left this arvo.

    • which store? will it be still the same price tomorrow? i think the price reverts back to normal tomorrow.

      • Port Stephens NSW (Newcastle). As it was a 'Tax Time special' it's most likely to go up. I'll certainly be checking when I get in to make sure I got a genuine bargain.

Despite the item scanning at $198 the website price seems to have remained $369 the whole time.

The guy at my local Bunning's told me that it was a limited stock promotion - the price would stay down until they all sold. He could be wrong, but he did know about the sale price as soon as I mentioned it.

Just got one of the dewalt drills for 170.10 from joondalup with little trouble

    • How on earth do you get it for a lower price on an already bargain? :(

      • It was marked as $369, same as all the WA stores. I showed them that it was available for $198 over east and nicely asked them to beat it by 10%.

        • @ tpet93,
I tried that at the Morley store and Malaga store and they both said on the phone that the "price guarantee" doesn't include shops with clearance sales or doing stock liquidations.

        • Just tried it at Midland. With a lot of umming and them asking for the manager who initially said no, they put it through at $198. They waved my powerpass in and it came up as $158 but was quickly canceled.

  • I checked today when I got in and they're back to $369.
Might get me a grinder skin next.

      • At least that's an auction. This person is asking almost full retail. A bit cheeky.

        • I'll be surprised if that guy on gumtree asking $350 sells it when you can get it for $369 directly from your nearest Bunnings and most likely even get a discount with a Powerpass card, which a lot of tradies have.

        • @bender: It's Gumtree. There are so many morons on there he could get $400 for it if he wanted to.

  • Anyone spotted a deal on an impact driver? I need an impact to complete the set. Found this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111294869915?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA… for $99. I think thats the best price for an impact. Happy to be proved wrong :).
