  • Ergoflex. Look up the reviews.

  • I bought a latex mattress some years back for this reason (low back pain) and I find it very comfortable. Afraid I can't help you with a bargain though :|

  • I've got an Ergoflex memory foam mattress. Didn't help me, but it's better than a soft mattress.

The best thing for me was a hard mattress.
And to have a place to lie down during the day instead of sitting down.

I sleep on my back, but I've been told a soft one is ok for people who sleep on their side.

  • You could get try that one that's a certified medical device… I think you can claim some of the cost on your health insurance, if you have it/depending on the policy. Maybe you could even ask them if you can return it if it turns out not to be 'fit for the purpose'?
They might agree to it, if their business is going well.

  • I think doing your own research on this kind of stuff can be dangerous; beds can range from great to absolutely terrible (especially if you are price sensitive).

Check out a specialist bed retailer like Bedworks (google them). That's where I bought my memory foam mattress from + got some help understanding how my posture plays a part in mattress selection.

(note I have never purchased a chiro mattress) so I'd suggest going instore (if you are sydney based)

  • Everyone will require something different from a mattress. I have had spinal surgery and need a good mattress. I think you shouldn't skimp to buy a good mattress, however that doesn't mean you have to pay a fortune. We bought a sleepyhead full latex mattress. It cost us just over 2k about 7 years ago, best purchase I have ever made. We tried other mattresses that cost 6-7k and this was the best for us. While it seems a lot to spend at the time, it's a small price to pay considering how much time we spend in bed, how important good sleep is, and the damage to,your health from a poor mattress.

    • Does a latex mattress continue to give off the latex smell or does that dissipate after a while? Really keen on latex, but have a sensitive nose as well, so a bit concerned. Appreciate any feedback.

      • +1

I never had a latex smell with my mattress.
