And why would u want to use budget V Australia when You can fly full fledged "premium" for the same price?
V AUSTRALIA IS NOT A BUDGET AIRLINE.
V Australia is a full service airline. If anything United is more budget e.g. No personal TV screens in economy.
I bet you have NEVER flown united.
V Australia isn't as nice as qantas (id bet that goes 100x if your lucky enough to get an A380, but they dont make it easy to figure out what flight you'd get it on). But V are about a million times better than united (which only just edges out kayaking over the ocean).

I got myself return flights SYD-JFK with Delta for $893 around a month ago when Delta and UA were matching each others prices. These current UA fares haven't changed much since then. Couldn't be a better time to travel to the States!

Oh i now cant go in November, only on or after 19th Dec and the fares jump to over $2600. Any ideas for cheaper prices????

Well I paid $1100 for my trip SYD to NYC earlier this month… IT WAS AMAZING!! seriously do it. It is worth every cent! Just book it! Do it!

Don't forget with united and delta you pay for checked bags and the fee's for oversized are expensive. Which can sting you. My suggestion is to fly to LA with V Australia and use south west airways which dont charge for bags and offer low price for oversized bags. They do fly to alot of places. V Australia planes are more modern 777
There are no checked bag fees on United or Delta for international flights as well as US domestic flights that are on the same itinerary as an international flight.

dfung your right about delta, united used to charge a fee but have revised it and fee for overweight back was $50 USD and 32kg now is $200 USD 23kg.
