Logitech makes some really good speakers.
not bad, i price matched msy @ officeworks to get a good deal on these a few months back.
good speakers, but low max volume (we wanted to use them for our tv)agreed, max volume is quite low
too low for party but not too bad for kitchen speaker while cookin :)
good speakers for the price, got them for my dad at the same price at a shop in Chatswood.
I was gonna go buy some, went to officeworks to price match saw them, then decided on the x230 price matched to MSY for 58. looks like heaps better speakers the ls21 look to cheap.. but then again they are double the price. (retail was like 97 dollars!)
i have a set of these speakers and i think they're rubbish. the wiring on my left speaker is almost dead and i have to twirl it around to get it to work.
for $29 though, it is a fairly decent price. but, you get what you pay for, so don't expect much from these things.
Logitech are okay until you own a set of TDKs, then you realise how bad the Logitechs are. I'm sure I sure these at JB's yesterday for $39. Rule of thumb, always listen to speakers before you buy.
not entirely true. logitech make some expensive pc speakers including the z5500. they are good speakers for their price, and to my knowledge, tdk don't make speakers above $200.
however, as a gross generalisation, don't expect much from ANY speakers less than $50, including logitech's. as i said before, you get what you pay for. A $10,000 daily driver compared to a $200,000 weekend joy-ride is a good analogy.
it just depends what you want it for. if sound isn't the most important thing about computing and you just want something that works, this is more than enough - considering this comes with a sub and requires a power plug.
if you want to get something better, pay $20 or $30 more and get a better pair of speakers, as i find these tinny and very poor quality both sound and build-wise.
that goes with out saying but when compared with other 30 or 40 dollar speakers on the market they are leagues ahead, I have 2 sets of z5500 (one upgraded with a JBL 10" Sub), and they dont have a whole lot of midrange, but they are computer speakers after all and I am using them for home theater but they will do till I can afford a decent Denon/Jamo 7.2 setup. I was really really happy with them till I heard my mate Jamo system but at 5 times the price. Sometimes it better not to know. As computer speakers at the moment I am using Yamaha powered near field monitors, not because the sound isnt that amazing (although midrange is very crisp), but they are a benchmark for the recording industry (I personally think they are are way overated) so when I send in a demo to a studio it will sound the same. Picking up some R20s today to put in my cocktail mame cabinet I am building only because they are plenty loud, and 4/8/16 bit games don't sound that good anyway & the sub is small enough to fit in the cabinet with a 21" CRT. Will hook in a coax digital port in the side so I can hook it up to my 5500's too.
Picked one up at Officeworks Oxley today they price-matched and extra 5%
Came to $27.50.
Great quality for the PC
Not a bad deal but you can pick these up from most places including Australia post for $39 no postage, Really nice sound for cheap speakers I bought a set for my Parents computer.
