  • Please do let us know what it was. Would love to know the mystery Shiraz they listed the same day too (it sold out within a day). I have a sneaking suspicion it was the same winery.

  • By the way, something's not quite right with this wine listing. It's not on the Deals page, and has 36 days to go. So jump on it if you want it!

    • Yeah it was on facebook ad rather than on the deals page

  • is it cheaper with referral link?, if so op can you post one please

    • +2

Hi vegimate, if it's your first order you'll save $25 by using a referral… there's a "Referral Links" section under the deal (the grey box). You can click "hussey" or "random (155)" to get the referral you need.

  • thank you

Thanks OP, used your referral link for this order, cheers

  • It might be the Tarrawarra Estate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

    http://www.tarrawarra.com.au/pinot

  • Not quite what I was expecting - it is Six Foot Six by Austin Wines. A quick google search has it at $16 at Dan Murphy, $14.99 elsewhere…

    • This one? http://www.sixfootsix.com.au/images/tasting-notes/sfs-pinot-… (notes are for 2011 though)

Wow, deceptive marketing then. "You've had this at a restaurant and if you haven't, you've bought it from a bottle shop and if you've not purchased this before, you have certainly been given a bottle as a gift, because this is a well known wine and I know that you know this producer." - ummm, can't say I know Austin wines. AT ALL.

Don't forget you can always return at no cost.

      • yes it's one thing to obfuscate, another to mislead - disappointing :(

    • Agree with it being deceptive. I have never ever heard of the brand or the wine maker.
Feeling silly, I asked around. Out of 5 heavy wine drinkers in the office, only one has heard of the maker but not the wine itself. I guess the proof will be in the drinking though. How does it taste?

      • I rarely drink Pinot so didn't order. hussey?

  • So…first bottle disappeared pretty quickly. If you like pinot from this region (think Swan Bay, Scotchman's Hill) then it's right on the money, well worth the eight bucks per bottle. Just a bit disappointed with the way it was described…

  • I saw this one a few days ago but couldn't figure out what it was.

    https://www.crackawines.com.au/Six_Foot_Six/2012_Six_Foot_Si…

  • Makes for a good weekday wine at the price. Had the same problem as "Kevviek" with the contents evaporating to quickly!

  • Did anyone get the shiraz posted on the same day? Also six foot six or austin wines?

  • Took a punt on this today with free shipping, as I enjoy Pinot noir. Speculation in the previous thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/149596 that this vintage gets a 94 in the upcoming Halliday Wine Companion, out 30 July. Can't comment myself.

  • We're through our 2nd bottle (between 5 of us) I didn't say anything about the wines to friends, they all said it's really easy to drink (not so complex) when I told them where I got it and how much they were very impressed and one reckons he'll buy a box. Certainly worth $6/7 a bottle!

I have 2 cracking cases of cooking wine now! saying that I am not sure I want to put this flavoured lolly water into my food.
