Hi,
I have recently started listening radio in the morning and find at really interesting. I am after some help from sydney siders on a good radio station (I have a digital radio, both FM and AM).
Currently I listen to 2UE on AM. But I think there might be something better out there, I have tuned all channels but maybe not at the time when other channels were running good talk shows.
Please share what you listen to and why?

Screw listening to the radio, just experiment with podcasts until you get a playlist that you like.
I'm a Science nerd, so I like
The Science Show and Radiolab
but I also listen to This American Life and most Background Briefing's are a good listen.
PS:
You don't have a Digital Radio in your car..
FM and AM are both Analog.. The display might be "Digital" like a Digital watch is "Digital", but the signal it receives is Analog.
Digital Radio isn't FM or AM, it's DAB+ (in Australia)

Should have mentioned I don't drive to work and the radio (Sony, DAB+) I listen to is at my work.

This was the best thing about having Sirius XM on my US road trip last year - could listen to BBC Radio, NPR, Canadian talkback, pretty much anything, anywhere within the US and Canada!
2bl…er…ABC 702 is adequate. They have outstanding news programmes (AM, PM, World Today) and some cracker segments, but there is a fair bit of filler. Breakfast and drive a little weak. Evenings is pretty good. Conversations is hit and miss, but when it is good it is excellent.
As a package, much superior to 2UE and with fewer annoying ads.
Radio National is the higher-brow version. I find it very hit and miss, with some awesome segments, then an hour long talk on some obscure 18th century indigenous potter. Your tastes might vary.
Another left-field suggestion is BBC Radio 4 from London. In my opinion, they are the premier news/current affairs/talk (but rarely call ins) globally. Very intelligent discussion, most of the time.
Also, NPR in the US has some good shows/podcasts.
