Shipping Services - Fastaway v's Aust. Post

Hi there,

Does anyone use Fastaway courier services?

I currently use Aust Post, but am selling Some Thomas the Tank engine stuff at the moment, and the sets are large and a bit cumbersome.

Getting a bit pricey to ship via Aust post, so thought I might try Fastaway. After reading their site, I am a bit confused.

1) Where do you take your parcel once it is ready?
2) How do you buy the labels to stick on them?

If anybody uses the service, these probably seem like straightforward questions, but I would appreciate a little advice!

    Certainly looks interesting. The prices are quite cheap between big cities.

    From what I've gather, they pick up your parcel from your home, or your desired location, so you don't need to take the parcel anywhere.

    I assume you can purchase the labels from the Fastway people when they come and pick up your parcel. But I couldn't find any contact number (to book service etc) on their website.

    The labels are from the "local" franchise so only can be used by them. That is you cant send label to someone else to ship to you.

    That aside they have been reliable and easy to use. You buy a book of labels you address the parcel and you attach the label to the parcel.

    Its split into 4 parts and you keep one, the pickup guy keeps one delivery guy keeps one and the other stays on the parcel sort of like a post it not with perforations.

    Found them cheap as Austpost but faster and they can handle odd size parcels. You can also buy 5kg add on stickers to increase the weight you can ship. So use basic sticker then add on sticker.

    They have different stickers for different area's.

    Havent used for sometime, as no need, Still have some stickers left and expect to use them. So things may have changed. Was happy with them when I was using them.

    I am using Fastway courier. They are practically have good customer services. Shipping post is the cheapest as far as I know but the bad thing is that you have to buy the pre-paid labels in order to use their courier. I spent on the labels aroundd $7XX, and I have not use them up. LOL… Trying my best to sell as many things as possible…

    By the way question for ozpete, what do you mean by "The labels are from the “local” franchise so only can be used by them. That is you cant send label to someone else to ship to you." ? Does it means that if I have some labels given to me by someone else (which they don use it anymore), I still can't use them?
