12.95$ for shipping…(Ex-Sydney)
What a rip off, stick it in a pre paid envelope for $1.40 add registered post for $3.50 totalling $4.90 and it can go anywhere in Australia for that price.
Totally agreed!
I got an external HDD enclosure there once, i dont think i'd do it again.
they are mainly aimed at internet delivery, thus
. hard to find, small lift in a building full of small businesses,
. when i did find them, no sign on the door, place full of crap everwhere and one asian kid buried in all the pc stuff suprised to see another human scatters all the boxes to find a plain cardboard box full of said hdd enclosures.
. still use this Vantec hdd enclosure
. dont epxect to browse products while you there. in my opinion stick to the guy next door for couple more bucks when it comes to small items like this.
You're right about the pick-up centre, but they fill an important niche - full range of products typical of major online parts stores and pick up in Sydney CBD. I think the only other store fitting that description is i-tech in Ultimo, and they're much the same setup as Skycomp (pick up from a suite in an office building). MSY in Ultimo has a smaller range, and the shops in York St, Capitol Square, etc. are even more limited.
I wonder if they bought these from HN yesterday.
I am waiting for the new dicksmith store in MQ centre.
Only really a deal if you can do the pickup.
