I would go for front loader one and looking for 7 kg or more.
Now I have to wait for special from Samsung or Bosch.
You need to decide what type (front or top loader - each have their benefits and disadvantages), the size you want (depends on how you do your washing - lots of frequent loads or prefer to do big loads less often - but with 2 kids you probably want at least 7kg) and specific functionality you can't live without (drying combo, ability to delay, water saving etc) and then you'll find you don't have very many to choose from.
Look up online reviews and knock out the ones that are dogs (a crappy washing machine will make your life hell). Then you'll probably find you are down to 2 or 3 models. Just look them up and keep an eye on catalogues to get an idea of their prices and then either wait for them to go on special or be part of a cash-back deal and/or go in to a couple of places and start negotiating. Play them off one another. Ask for free delivery etc.
