Can you find a soda bottle stopper on Ebay for me?

I'm looking for a cap for a soft drink bottle to keep it fizzy.
I cannot find it on Ebay. I found one on this site but it's $4 + $5 shipping.

Or can I find it in store somewhere?

Thanks

  • If you want a "soda" bottle stopper try ebay.com Soda being American for soft drink…

    otherwise you can look here

    3 for $A 1.43 free shipping

    • That is just a normal cap. But what I'm looking for is a small pump cap to add pressure into the bottle and stop CO2 come out.

  • If you have one closeby, try Daiso. They had wine bottle tops when I needed one. Lots of designs to choose from, so hope they have something similar for your soda bottle too. Good luck!

    • I will check the store, thanks.

  • +1

I just tighten the cap on every soft drink bottle so that it properly locks. Doesn't go flat even if it's opened several times before it's finished.

Use a rubber band looped around the lid, or a rubber dishwashing glove as they're usually handy, or anything else with some grip and see how much tighter you can actually close a soft drink bottle cap versus just doing it with your hands.

As a diet soft drink addict, I can tell you it works lol. If I get lazy just once and don't tighten the lid as above, I notice a huge drop in fizz straight afterwards.

The colder the bottles are kept, the better as well. And only open cold bottles. Opening room temp bottles = way more gas lost in the very first opening.

And if you don't already - pour into glasses/cups on an angle, pouring the drink down the wall of the cup. Pouring it straight into an upright glass/cup makes it go all frothy from all the friction I suppose… meaning again, more gas lost. Pouring it down the side of an cup held at an angle almost totally eliminates the foaming issue.

  • You know those home shopping catalogues like Home Care? I saw exactly what you're looking for (pump type) in the last one of those I looked at, about 3 months ago. But they almost never change the range in those catalogues, so I expect the next one will still have it available.

    Forget the price tho.

Edit: Forget that, here you go!

  • Not really answering your question, but if you squeeze the bottle in to remove as much air space as possible before replacing the lid, it stays fizzy.

    • That can't be right, can it? Unless the bottle is quite hard to crush in which case it's difficult anyway. My understanding is that the drink loses fizz because the gas escapes into the bottle (which is why those pump caps work by pressurising the bottle). Of you squeeze the air out, there's less pressure and more room for gas to escape, unless the bottle is quite hard and won't expand upon gas releasing from the drink?

Happy to be proven wrong though. I don't really drink soft drink.

      • I guess the way it works is that there's less room for the gas to escape into.

I don't know how it works, but it does.

  • You can buy it for 40 cents US a peice… But you have to order a minimum of 3000 qty lol.

Looks like they just ordered a batch to put on their website to see how it goes. Don't think it's an actual product in its own right.

Also I noticed the one in your link is now 'out of stock'.

    For something similar:

Also you can find if you search for 'carbonation pump' on amazon for a bit cheaper so you can add it on to another order if you're already purchasing from them.

I really doubt you'll be able to find much cheaper. Or at least not that much cheaper that it's worth the effort for.
