Had been looking for some cheap headphones that still had decent sound quality, so pretty much none of the sub $100 Sony's, Sennheiser's, Pioneers, although they do have great sound quality in their higher end stuff, thinking more Sennheiser here….
Came across some reviews on the Philips SHL3300 which were apparently very underated in that space and DSE had them down to $49 and with this deal worked out to $29, which seems to be a pretty good price, as per this post;

Some great reviews on Head-Fi as well and still burning them in, but pretty impressed so far, considering the price!

Haha.. yeah, thought about that when posting it, but the drivers in headphones don't know if they're expensive or not ;-)
Therefore the same principles apply and the sound will take a while to develop, it's just that the final sound will never be as good as high end headphones!
Don't get me wrong, I already own Shure headphones for flat response and wouldn't consider buying anything under Momentums in the Sennheiser range, for non reference earphones (which might occur shortly as well!), so I know what they are and where they sit, it's just I can just appreciate them in terms of what's available in that range.

I bought a MacBook Pro earlier in the day at Myer Melbourne then went shopping at David Jones & saw the 15%off sale I was devastated so I quickly went back to Myer which they couldn't price match so I returned it & went back to DJs bought two iMac 21.5" & a MacBook Pro 15" with Retina display (the MBPro 15" sold out but the manager said I can back order it & when it comes in he'll call me to pick it up) So Happy with my purchases!!! Bargain of the year! Also very happy because I'm going to claim TRS on the MBPro because I'm going to Europe in 3 weeks- win win!!!
