What are some good places to get Samsonite? Myer, Amazon, The Luggage Professionals?
Not really keen on queuing up just to see whats on offer.
Myer quite periodically have 40-50% off.
Bags to go. Online or in store
Samsonite will not cover flights under their warranty. Going to need to study the consumer law if you have any issues.
If you got nothing to do and patient enough to queue for couple of hours to buy seconds and discontinued items, go ahead.
I passed by there yesterday morning and found more than a hundred people in the queue. Unbelievable!
It's almost as if having Samsonite luggage is some sort of status symbol sometimes.
They are good quality but, retails much more than what they really are worth.
I am quite happy with the Samsonite-made Kirkland spinner from Costco though.
Went to the last one, quite a lot of good bargains.
You do have to get there early though as the good stuff goes early.
People were hogging a lot while standing around on the phone.
Lol, i wonder if theres any point turning up tomorrow then.
i went last two times, good bargains out there.
bugger why none in sydney
i can attest to the fact that there is very good bargains. went last time at around 7am i think. waited a few hours but well worth it.
it was funny to see that as the lines grew, over 95% of the people in line were asians (me included). haha.
also good to see the security guard on duty threw out anyone who either left the line to come back later, or tried to slot into the line without first waiting.
Did you go on the first day of the sale? Is it worth going after the first day? I'm wondering if they may stagger out the good stuff over the few days rather than releasing them all on the first day.
Also, how did you learn about the sales?
Learnt about it via Ozbargain.
I remember going on a Saturday or a Sunday.
There is a few hard cases available, but only really the first 30-40 odd people get to buy those, as they have a limited supply every day of those.
The soft cases there is plenty.
I believe they will prob have the same limits, e.g. hard cases = 2 per person, and soft cases = unlimited.
They do stagger it out, so they release some at the start of the day, they restock towards afternoon. They don't bring out all the stock on the first day.
Went there last year and grabbed 7 luggages
Few info and tips:
Come early around 7.30, there will be tons of people already queuing up. Yes, majority are Asians
Bring jackets and umbrella, it's no fun queuing in rain for hours
Do not cut lines, you'll be pulled by the security and asked to start from the very back
Bring a friend or two with you. It will be very chaotic, people screaming, pushing and bumping into each other. Your friend will have the honour of pushing others away and guard your chosen luggages as someone else will grab them off you if you blink an eye
There are two doors where they slowly release the luggages after initial stock. You need to stay there, doors are open for two mins and everything will be gone, so you'll have to wait for another 30 mins for the door to open again
You need waaay too much patience for this then. Never thought I'd say it, but I'd rather pay extra than go through that torment.
Its an experience. Lol.
I see people lining up outside Kickz101 on Elizabeth every month to buy the new Nikes.
Those fans are even more hardcore than Apple Fans. Some of them line up 4-5 days before the release….
It was quite amusing when I lined up last time for Samsonite. It was like watching a drama on tv, with people back stabbing and fighting. Last time the security guard goes "if you know anybody who has pushed in tell me" lol. yea and the fun started there. Awesome amusement and entertainment.
Might have to go for the pure lols factor then and if I get anything, bonus.
Yeah see those guys (all Asians lets face it :P) on Elizabeth all the time with their folding chairs haha
also as always comments from past sales might help :)

Just got back. Went at midday, heaps of hardside cases to be had. They only had spin trunk, large for $170, medium $140. Ended up getting ultralite 8 softside for $150 as im not a fan of hard cases but the discount were steeper for the spin case. Looks like there should be plenty for tomorrow
Just got back myself (went around 2pm). Not many of the large spin trunks left and only colour was blue. Having said that, plenty of the American Tourister and a few other branded ones still around.
Spoke to the girl at the register who said although they've held some stock back on the Samsonite's there isn't much left at all.
So if you're planning to go tomorrow I'd suggest get in early to avoid disappointment!
Went today at 3pm, was able to walk straight in, not busy at all.
Heaps soft cases left large and small.
There were heaps hard case medium left, but not so much in large & small.
A fresh pallet was just rolling out when I walked in, was able to grab a Duo Air Spin small for $90;
There were few large ones left when I went, was able to get Spin Trunk large for $170.
Spoke to the checkout girls, they havent been busy at all, but tomorrow she thinks they will, when I was leaving there was a truck arriving to deliver fresh new stocks.
Went today but they were closed- damn missed out! Must have sold everything on Saturday then
Anyone been there yet? Any good deals spotted?
